As a fan of Christian Borle and Andrew Rannells and this show, this is very interesting! I saw it twice in London and while I loved Rannells in it (and thought the emotion he brought was very good), he didn’t feel essential to the show the way Katie Brayben did (and I’d even say Zubin Varla felt more important than him).  
 

I do wonder though if Christian Borle be able to play the goofiness/campiness quite as well as Andrew Rannells t

A couple interesting design elements I think are different tonight from when I saw it Thursday

Solea Pfeiffer’s costumes have had a color swap. Her main dress now has a red top layer, and her Shakin Off The Dust costume is black (and pretty similar to the ensemble). Matthew Amira also has a red shirt. 
 

There were also new set pieces for the apartment in Shakin Off The Dust and for the place they go in town towards the end. Four people come out and

It wasn’t an actual “invited dress” since the delay meant the attendees are just the normal ticket holders for what would’ve been the preview that day. I wonder why they didn’t just call it the final dress.

And yes, before Thursday was canceled we were offered refunds whether or not we still attended the “invited dress”, which I guess if still true for yesterday may somewhat affect expectations, but not in the same was as an actual invited

I saw this tonight from the standing area and really enjoyed it! Standing for the entire time definitely takes a toll but I think it was worth it for the unique experience of the whole thing. I can’t say if it’s like this every night, but tonight there was plenty of space and nobody was pushy about getting to certain spots.

This’ll be my 3rd time, once in November with Jeremy Jordan and once a month ago which was Rob McClure’s first show out with COVID and I caught Josh Daniel. Christian Borle did his extended death scene trying (successfully) to get him to break so I agree it’ll be interesting to see

I was at the matinee today and super disappointed to miss Rob but Josh Daniel was perfect as Seymour! He embodied everything so well, no complaints other than him not being Rob McClure.

Also, Christian Borle went FOREVER during the “dying” part of It’s Just the Gas today seemingly to try to make Josh Daniel break, which I know he always does it long but it felt like twice as long as the other time I saw it. Josh was fighting so hard to hold in his laughter for a w
