Two thoughts. (1) take my money now (2) Guettel finished writing a new musical?

I co-sign this.
The film is one of my favorites.
Thrilled to see this is finally coming to fruition!
OH SH*T.
Atlantic is consistently churning out some of the best new musicals.
Nice to see Brian D'Arcy James doing two new musicals this season, after so long away from the musical stage.
Here's hoping Guettel hasn't lost his touch in the almost 20 years since PIAZZA opened on Broadway. I know this has been in the works for a long time, same with his adaptation of Danny Boyle's MILLIONS (which at one point had Scott Rudin & Marc Platt producing, Bartlett Sher directing, and Bob Martin writing the book).

I’m ecstatic that this will be on during the time of my next planned NY trip. If there are any Atlantic members on this board who would be willing to get a pair of tix for me during the 1/26 presale, please PM me and I will be eternally grateful.

I had the privilege of hearing Kelli sing a couple of these songs a few years back. They were uniformly spectacular. It feels halfway between Floyd Collins and Light In the Piazza. I cannot wait to hear them again!

Oh yeah. This is IT.
This is VERY exciting news. O’Hara in a NEW Guettel musical? Amazing. Plus BDJ.
Can we just cut to the chase already and hear about a fall 2023 Broadway transfer?
This already sounds incredible.
This show has become the one I'm most looking forward to this spring! Yes!

Very eager to see this. I haven't seen the film before. Are these big, juicy roles that could win them Tonys?

Jack Lemmon and Lee Remick were both nominated for Oscars for the film version. Neither won against some career performances. Lemmon lost to Gregory Peck in To Kill a Mockingbird. Other nominees were Burt Lancaster (Biirdman of Alcatraz) Marcello Mastriani (Divorce Italian Style) and Peter O'Toole (Lawrence of Arabia). Lee Remick lost to Anne Bancroft in The Miracle Worker. Other nominees were Bette Davis (Whatever Happened to Baby Jane), Katherine Hepburn (Long Days Journey into Night) and Geraldine Page (Sweet Bird of Youth)
Extremely excited for this! I second the request for help getting a ticket from a member if anyone is willing!

I’ll be clamoring for a ticket for sure.
TAKE MY MONEY
What a dream team!!!
Read a synopsis of the movie, and damn this is a pretty depressing story, but I’m so glad Guettel has written another musical.
Very exciting!!! While I'm sure the score will be glorious, I'm concerned about the book. It's an intricate movie and I'm not 100% sold that it'll work on stage. They truly have a dream team though, so if anyone is going to make it work, it will be these people.
Have there been any workshops or regional productions of this? This is the first I've heard of it.

I understand the creatives have consulted with an astrologer to see if it would be a successful project. Obviously the stars gave it the green light.

I don't believe there have been any formal workshops, but Kelli has mentioned in interviews that they've been writing this show for her for around ten years.
... When did we all just forget this whole thing with Adam Guettel?

The link seems to no longer work, but...is this about his tweets regarding the Brett Kavanaugh/Christine Blasey Ford ordeal? Does that mean he's not allowed to write musicals anymore?
Michael Greif directing!
