Wondering who you all would cast as JHud as Shug Avery in The Color Purple. I sure liked that first production's actress, Elizabeth Whithers Mendez as Shug. Might she come back? Or ???

Some of you are such idiot catastrophe trolls. The show is considerably different than in La Jolla.

I've seen it in both. Waiting on reviews. Neither predicting gloom nor glee in the reviews thread.

Just revisited on Friday night with friends.

Joaquina Kalukango as Nettie makes her better than I've ever seen before in the history of this show, second that for Cynthia, Jennifer and Danielle. Wiped out from it. Top three shows I've ever seen on stage - there with:
Gypsy (1989)
Passion (1994) and now The Color Purple (2015)

It is THAT GOOD.
