RIP Polly Bergen  Sep 21 2014, 09:20:43 AM
Was fortunate to see her play Fraulein Schneider in 2002's Cabaret. At that time John Stamos and Jane Leeves were starring in it. Polly and Hal Linden were the highlights of the show. Also loved her in the tv miniseries, "The Winds of War."
Jersey Boys movie  Jul 6 2014, 10:41:00 AM
Saw the movie yesterday. Went in with low expectations (loved the show on Broadway), but was pleasantly surprised. Thought it was a terrific adaptation of the stage show. Enjoyed it and recommend it!
2014 Tony Awards  Jun 10 2014, 02:51:45 PM
Was fortunate enough to attend the ceremony Sunday night. For me, the best performances of the evening were Jessie/Carole, After Midnight, Idina and Bullets. Hugh was terrific and charming.

Attending the Tony Awards!  May 31 2014, 05:08:51 PM
I'll be attending the Tony Awards for the first time. Some practical questions for anyone who has attended in the past. I know you can't take photos during the ceremony, but will I be allowed to have my camera in my purse (for photo taking before and after the show)? Also, I think I read that you must arrive by 7:00. Are you seat bound the entire time or during breaks can you get up and visit the bar (is there a bar on the upper mezz?), restroom, etc...? Thanks in advance for any responses!
Quiet, Please, There's a Lady Onstage  Jun 12 2013, 05:55:23 PM
Sorry to go off track from the original topic, but just had to add, this song was another highlight of all his shows:

Quiet, Please, There's a Lady Onstage  Jun 12 2013, 05:49:53 PM
Hushpuppy, thanks for the evoking great memories. As a young kid, I was fortunate to see Peter Allen in concert twice. I always thought he had looked goofy performing on the talk shows of that era (Merv, Mike, etc...), but to see him perform live....just unbelievable. His "Quiet, Please," "I Go to Rio," and "Tenterfield Saddler" were the highlights of each show.
The Official TONY Awards Thread  Jun 9 2013, 08:26:03 PM
Loved the opening number.
No desire to see Matida or Bring it on.
Saw Judith Light last year in Other Desert Cities. She's a wonderful actress!.

Wynbish, I totally agree!

With regards to her waist....she is a breast cancer survivor and could very well be on tamoxifen or an aromatase inhibitor. They can often make it challenging to keep trim around the waist. Just an fyi....

Here is a "quieter" performance : )

People seem to love Patti or hate her. Whatever...

Would have loved to have seen her in Evita.
Did, though, see her in Gypsy and Company. Love these performances by her:

I prefer the Ladies of Lunch version she did at Sondheim's b-day concert. Here's a snippet:

And here is her Tony award winning Gypsy performance:

Les Miserables: So, what did you think?  Dec 26 2012, 06:14:46 PM
Having seen Les Miserables on stage 5 times (once on Broadway, twice in London and twice in Philadelphia) and having seen Hugh Jackman live twice (Boy from Oz and his one man show last year), I had very high expectations of the movie. Overall, I was not disappointed. I thought Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway and Eddie Redmayne were wonderful in their roles! And I loved Colm Wilkinson (original Jean Valjean) as the Bishop. I agree with some that Master of the House was weak, as well as Russell Cro

re: The role of Tracy Lord in Spacey's Philadelphia Story goes to.....  Sep 3 2012, 08:59:15 PM
Really enjoyed seeing this at the Old Vic in London back in '05. Spacey was terrific and Ehle did a nice job.
Ramona Mallory in A Little Night Music  Sep 3 2012, 08:51:16 PM
I saw her early in the run with CZJ and Lansbury. I was not impressed with Mallory's performance. Really did not enjoy it.
