re: PLANE CRAZY Aug 8

On behalf of the Oklahoma City University "Stripped" production, allow me to say that "Plane Crazy" is an excellent show...the book, music and lyrics are creative and funny. We were only able to do 40 minutes of the show, but our audience went wild. Susy has crafted a piece that is witty, intelligent and sophisticated. It evokes the 1960's perfectly through it's words and sounds. We look forward to the day that this excellent new piece gets the exposure it deserves!

re: Summer Musical Theatre Camps... Mar 2
2006, 05:02:11 PM
If you're serious about studying musical theater, Oklahoma City University offers one of the premier musical theater camps. Last year, we welcomed over 40 students from California to New York. You take daily classes in music theory, piano, acting and dance. Master classes include improv, career preperation and voice sessions (last year, Florence Birdwell, teacher of Chenoweth and Kelli O'Hara, taught). On top of all of this, you perform in a fully staged musical (this year "Babes In Arms"). All classes are taught by professors and associates directly from OCU's staff. In other words, you get training by the same professors who teach the musical theater majors. Student live in the university apartment complex (with swimming pool) and also perform in weekly cabaret shows. It's not for those who want to sit around...it's for those who want to prepeare for a career in this industry. Click here for detials on the OCU Vocal Arts Academy: http://www.okcu.edu/music/academy/classes.asp or call 1-800-633-7242 and ask for the OCU Performing Arts Academy.

Yes Kristin went here. So did Lara Teeter, Roy Bean ("Chicago"), Ron Raines ("Chicago"/ "Guiding Light"), Susan Powell (Miss America 1980), Julie Hansen ("Phantom") and Jordan Ballard ("Hairspray"). Hope you can see Parade plus our New Musicals Project concert in April!

Sorry to dissapoint you Mayella, but there is nothing sexual about the name of "Stripped". If you read the info, you would see that "Stripped" presents shows in a "stripped" setting...meaning no sets, no costumes, no props, no choreography and no orchestra. A bare stage setting that is "stripped" of the usual things that make a full production. Not very sexual at all.
