Favorite Sondheim Lyrics Jul 27

I agree with previously posted: "You may know what you need, but to get what you want, better see that you keep what you have" Also one of my favorites: "What's my secret? Frankly dear, forgive my candor family secret, all to do with herbs. Things like being careful with your coriander, thats what makes the gravy grander!"

I agree with TheatreFreak about the guilty pleasure. I have listened to my copy of the cast recording more than I ever thought I would! It really is a great score.

Holy cow! I am so excited about this - once of my favorite soundtracks. I was so upset that it closed so quickly.

I think you will love it. It has lots of great songs, dancing, and performers. Also has some very funny parts. I love Jason Daniely's song ("I Miss the Music") and DHP's performance is worth the price of admission itself.

Right now I am rediscovering Side Show and The Life. Two of my favorites!

re: Jaystarr's 10/10 Report on THE GLORIOUS ONES ( a very brief one) Dec 17
2007, 12:16:20 AM
Thanks for the great report Jaystarr - I saw the show last Saturday night and I also found the book a little weak but the music, staging, and wonderful actors made it a very worthwhile experience. Natalie also kissed me when she entered the theater and I'm sure I turned six shades of red because I was not expecting it!

One of my favorites is a parody of "Everything's Coming Up Roses" that Peter sings about Meg.

This is GREAT news - I just saw this on Saturday and was hoping a cast album would happen. The cast was amazing and I got kissed on the cheek by Natalie Venetia Belcon to boot!

re: Specific short lines or lyrics that give you chills Nov 15

So happy to see all of the Ragtime references. That was the first show I ever saw on broadway and it has so many chill-inducing lyrics, including: "I buried my heart in the ground - when I buried you in the ground"

I enjoyed Into the Fire from the Scarlet Pimpernel at the 1998 Tonys. Douglas Sills' accent was kinda cheesy but the number was full of energy.

Ragtime - it was the first show I saw in NYC (I was a late bloomer) :)
