Shirley will be doing a show similar soon - I'm bugging her to do it! Like Stritch, she will dish the dirt (Shirley has slept with most of hollywood, her brother slept with the rest!) and Shirley and Elaine both say FCUK so eloquently, It's like a fine wine!!

There is that - but the element of surprise was out the second, third and fourth times I saw it as well but the acting so fine and material so rich. The film was NOT what I saw onstage, the film was un-watchable.
re: Sweeney Todd knowledge needed?  Feb 20 2006, 07:06:07 PM
Actually, There is a wonderful synopsis in the new 2 Disc version of the show just out. Once you know the basic story you should be able to follow. If unsure, watch the DVD with Angela Lansbury & George Hearn. Sweeney is a timeless story so it couldn't really hurt much. If you think you will get it though, try to leave some things to shock & "GOBSMACK!" You as well!
