A sudden unforeseen crisis (usually involving danger) that requires immediate action: THAT is what an emergency is.

Phyllicia Rashad! That is a hoot! So self-important! And will be SO forgotten three seconds after she's declared dead. Couldn't act her way out of a paper bag.

It's not that bad, it's just that it really boils down to being about... nothing, in particular. Two old tennis players sit around talking about the past. POSSIBLE SPOILER: The basic conflict is the fact that something Angela's character did basically prevented them from winning the Grand Slam, and although neither character says it, that was the end of their doubles partnership, and their tennis careers, as neither went on to play single. And neither character thought the other liked her.

re: Bernadette Peters-Will She Appear At Benefit Concert Tonight? Oct 2

Years ago in St Louis Patti LaBelle was in concert. She came onstage and announced her sister had passed earlier that day, from cancer. She devoted the show to her sister and was AMAZING. Some people have such a constitution, some do not.

Re: Virginia, The stage door is to the left of the theatre entrance. It looks like an iron cage door, if I remember correctly. He does come out, is very nice and will chat at length if you engage him.

She was really something in Mame. Of course her singing is spectacular, but she did something different with the role. She played Mame as more of an intellectual as opposed to a freethinker with a kooky edge. She would be perfect if this is ever revived on Broadway. She's at just the right age. On another note, the Muny is famous for folks fleeing to their cars before curtain calls. (Rude, I know) But I turned and saw almost no one doing this! The cast got a four or five minute standi

re: Kathleen Turner at the Stage Door? Jun 27

I saw the play Saturday night and also brought along a copy of my DVD of my favorite movie "The Accidental Tourist". There were maybe a total of 35 people waiting at the stage door. Kitty Carlisle was escorted in, I suppose to see Ms Turner! Kitty came back out about 10 minutes later, then about five minutes later Ms Turner came out. She signed for about four people and then she got to me, I told her she was fantastic in the play, and asked if she would sign my favorite movie. She gasped s

I was wondering if she comes out the stage door, does she sign, etc. I've loved her since Body Heat and am seeing the play soon. Has anyone had any luck?

Maybe Disney could create a Tarzan musical. Then the Rock could run around on stage for 2-1/2 hours in a loincloth. It would sell out everynight!

re: How do you handle inappropriate theatre employees? Jul 3

Oh my, I've had this happen also. I am always prepared for rudeness ahead of time, since the majority of service people make it a habit, so it was no problem. I once went to a show three nights in a row and got the same B/O person each time. The second night he gave me a second look but didn't say anything, but I could tell he recognized me from the night before. The third night he asked who in the show I was stalking. I replied "What?" He asked again, slightly louder. I said "What's that
