Question about the York Oct 17
2007, 04:40:42 PM
Does anybody know if the York records their performances? Is every performance get a cast album recorded, or does it depend on the demand? Thanks in advance. I've got some friends from out of town, who won't be able to attend "The Baker's Wife," and we were curious. I didn't want to contact the theater if someone here knew first. Thanks again!

Bubbly Black Girl cd May 1
2007, 06:05:33 PM
I saw the show years ago with my mom (I was about 13), but I honestly don't really remember much of the music. The samples on Amazon don't really give a good representation either. Does anybody have it?Is it worth buying? Thanks.

re: The 2-disc DREAMGIRLS DVD May 1

I agree with you, jv92. I was hoping for so much more about the Broadway show, and then the journey to making of the movie. The Broadway show seemed to only get mentioned, and not even in-depth. Kind of like a footnote. I don't think that the segment was even 10 minutes long. Anyway... I got mine from Target this morning, and 3 discs for $22.99 is a steal. It's also the best deal, in my opinion, over what every other store is offering. Anika's performance alone was worth it. Did anyone

re: shows that flopped that should not have Apr 22

I wouldn't call Ragtime or Caroline, or Change flops, but they both deserved longer runs on Broadway. Those were two amazing shows! Adding to the list, the original Porgy and Bess.

2007, 09:07:23 AM
For anybody interested, Joel Grey will be appearing on the hour and a half long news magazine "Sunday Morning" sometime between 9 and 10:30 am, EST. In my experience, actor profiles usually come on around 9:45 or 10.

Raisin In the Sun Apr 18

Just wondering, has anybody heard anything more about the tv airing of "A Raisin in the Sun," with the Broadway revival cast? I think that it was originally scheduled to air in April. IMDB doesn't have any updated information other than post-production status. Thanks in advance everyone.

Question about "The Gospel at Colonus" Apr 4
2007, 06:41:01 PM
A friend of mine has a copy of "The Gospel at Colonus" (1985 Philadelphia Cast). For those who don't know, it's a re-telling of Oedipus to gospel music. I was just wondering, did this show ever make it to Broadway? If so, who was in it? If not, what do you guys think the chances of it ever making to Broadway are? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks in advance!

Questions about Ain't Misbehavin' Mar 6
2007, 05:06:34 PM
A couple of questions about Ain't Misbehavin: 1. Does anyone know how I can get my hands on a copy of Ain't Misbehavin with Nell Carter and Charlayne Woodard? I know it's not for sale commercially and NBC has unfortunately never re-broadcast the show. 2. Besides the absence of Nell Carter, are there any reasons not to invest in a copy of the London Cast Recording over the OBC? --- For question #1, I meant the video performance of the show. A friend of mine told m
