The Circle in the Square becomes the be all end all name on this board when discussing shows with “unique” staging, and zero concept of economics are ever taken into account. There were some in this board who insisted the Cabaret revival should play there as well…

That’s great! Except another show literally has it booked…

This production certainly had all hype die very quickly (and I’m a fan of it). The London production was able to get much more interesting casting. None of the pairs worked especially well on Broadway, nor were they that interesting. Lambert and Peck faired the best in my eyes, whereas the none of the Sally’s even registered for me. 

You’ll be ok for not knowing something before it was announced. Take a breath. 

Somebody’s angry! Didn’t need to “stalk” actors. It’s been rumored pretty much all year, even before the Pirates announcement.

I questioned the producing behind this from day one. There was no need to rush this in. 
 

I didn’t particularly enjoy it, and found some of the praise a bit forced, but I’m glad it at least developed a fan base. 

I’ve been craving The Pillowman for years now. 

In all honesty…do you really think they will book Nicole Sherzinger for a residency at the 4,000 plus seat Colosseum. Let’s be real.

Turning a profit at the Circle in the Square would be impossible. Just because it looks like its venue at the Shed does not mean it would work there, for the 100th time. 
 

Perhaps Smash would have stayed open if they just allowed Bella Coppola to sing Let Me Be Your Star with just a piano on the Tony Awards…oh wait. 

George Floyd in a BOOP! thread…we’ve hit the most embarrassing post this board has ever seen.  
 

I hope everybody enjoys the Tony Awards. Boop will not be performing. Nor should it. 

I’m just confused why the knee jerk reaction is EVERYONE CAN PERFORM, while also complaining about certain awards being given in the pre-show or during commercials.

Yes…it is weird to invest this much energy into a show that is making 7 cents with 3 nominations. 

Despite insisting that you know how it, you prove you don’t know how this works. 
 

The way some of yall are risking it all for a horrible show and a performer that will never know your name . She was nominated, that’s great! How much more do you want? 

I thoroughly enjoyed the tour in DC. Was nervous it would get lost in a bigger house, but I fortunately had close seats. Carolee Carmello continues to be a star. She played the role more awkward than Victoria Clark, which I thought suited her well because of her powerhouse voice. What a perfect little show, and I was thrilled to see it again after 3x in Broadway.
