There’s a certain demographic here that will forgive Madonna for her faults at film but will crap on JLo. Not sure why. Both are great at what they do and do it  damn well. Didn’t realize turning a certain age meant you have to criticize pop stars and actresses without any sort of context besides “I sing showtunes”.

You clearly love Phantom in a certain way. Others don’t. I’m saying this with actual love as a theater fan, but it will never come back in the way you have it in your head. Let other people find it in a new way. Include them in your fandom. 

My favorite west end theater too. Excited to catch this again. 

There wouldn’t be a trailer for a Sundance premiere. The goal of Sundance is to get distribution.

you’re wasting energy on something you clearly don’t want to see. If walking doesn’t sound like your thing, don’t go! See something you actually want to see.

On the other hand, this is the first time I’ve actually been excited about Phantom in years. The original production closed and I’m thrilled it’s receiving a different life. 

Yet some in this board are dumb enough to make comments like that. Let’s not leave it at that. Go ahead, explain why. Use your words.

I imagine that 8 months of the same narrative might actually work against it.

Plus, the renovation looks 10x better than the Ford’s/Hilton/Foxwood’s (?)/lyric ever did. 

Show after show, Broadway marketers show they…don’t know how to market. 

I’m in the minority that happened to love the musical adaptation, so I’m excited for this! 

Ah the ole “A mezzanine is a balcony but a balcony isn’t a mezzanine” game. 

Semantics but…compared to the others mentioned, there isn’t a second balcony at Studio 54

This one…wasn’t for me. Huge horror fan, but the creative team never really clicked with the material for me. 

I never said If it would sell, I’m merely saying that pretending like actors from some of the biggest television series in recent memory isn’t “big” is simply just not true. Big is relative of course, but it’s just plain weird when people brag they haven’t heard of others.

I love when a select breed of users on this forum wear the “WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE IVE NEVER HEARD OF THEM” comment as a badge of honor. We are laughing at you, not with you. 

He was the absolute highlight of Spelling Bee at the Kennedy Center for me. This is the only Sondheim I haven’t seen so may have to catch this.
