Why Jesus Christ Superstar Failed Jun 21
2012, 05:41:09 PM
LOVE LOVE LOVE Drew Sarich's Judas. He & Constantine Maroulis (who I saw in a non-eq production several years ago) have to be my favorites...quite similar in their take on the material, and the passion with which it's sung. Josh is...pretty. I thought the Tony performance was pretty awful visually, and he didn't have the rock-edginess to his voice that to me is required of the part. I actually have a quite old album of his from his days in small theater, and I have the same opinion o

<<<< That's what I said..."planning on it." He was asked about January and February >>>> Guess my lame attempt at humor didn't come across well. Oops. What I meant was, yes, he said he was "planning on it" for Jan & Feb, when he chatted at Deuce, but with a big "BUT" added (a caveat due to what might actually happen, depending on his other project). I believe what Lizzy found out was more definite, thus my -capitalization- of "PLANNING ON IT" lol. Anyway, glad he is, and thanks, Lizzy, for asking him. Too bad about all the costs involved in the making of a cd. I guess it would be a pretty huge undertaking, but I hope it happens. Jane2, I love your pretty kale :) Hope someone local can capture that broadcast for posterity! Sorry to hear of Nova's departure, too, but I'm sure casting will find someone amazing to fill her dancin' shoes. <-------------just realized my avi is still Joe's Pub ... how apropos. December 23. Be there or be.... !!!

What he said was, quote: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "planning on it... working on a very interesting side project right now (in addition to roa) that is top secret so...you never know" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So you never know. But now Miss Lizzy has found out he's PLANNING ON IT through January (*smoochies*). I wouldn't buy the airplane tickets for February yet, but that's just me..... (And I'd love to know what the sooper seekrit is!) Would love, love, love a cast record

Hope will doesn't have the creeping cruddy bug that seems to be going around... It would be interesting to see someone else in the role though! I'll bet Jeremy does a great job. Definitely will be pitching in for BC/EFA. I've been doing that each year since The Wedding Singer.

The Monday night show. The Monday night show is on my short list of the best performances of any show I've ever seen. Truly. Everyone was SO "on". The voices were positively SOARING. And I had an absolutely terrific seat F108...dead center...drop dead center lol. The feet recovered when I took off those $#)# shoes. Great by morning. Miss Lizzy, I'm positively jealous that you're going to the taping, but squeeee for you! Can't wait to hear about it!

Yes....I don't know whether to add "unfortunately", or not to that... I suppose anything that keeps the dollars flowing in and the crowd happy is a good thing...

Saturday night's SRO reporting in! I was undecided til the last minute (due to the presence of the dh, who normally will not go to see the same show twice, and we already had tx for Monday)...But going out to dinner with Blue&Co...everyone was going and I was feeling sorry for myself so... We literally walked in at the last minute, as did the couple beside us, who LOVED it, btw... It was indeed PACKED! Perhaps the mezz had some seats but from where we were, I couldn't see any in orchestra to slip into at intermission. They had SRO in addition to a row of temporary chairs set up in the back. The good...SRO ain't bad! The only blocked view was anything on the top of the stairs...schooching solved that. We could dance when we wanted! We got to chat with the lovely promo lady! The price couldn't be beat! The bad...my feet! But I'd do it again in a heartbeat. Frankly, I was just grateful to have made it in. We were sitting directly in front of Mr. vanZandt, who was in the last row of regular seating...heh...wish I could have traded places with someone who could have appreciated that more...When a guy told me who he was, I just nodded and smiled...pretending to know who he was talking about (yes, I have been living under a rock...). We talked with a lovely couple from Long Island who will definitely be back and will be bringing friends..the lady took a minute after the show to purposely walk back to us and tell us what a great time they had.

excruciatingly jealous of your signature, coolkid.....So wanted to be there. I saw the filmed version of the last performance. Wow. A bazillion times better than that m.o.v.i.e. (The touring co that came to Boston was less than wonderful, too.) Aaanyway... Cute recap, Lizzy...So glad you got to go!...Also glad everyone made you feel at home, eventually! Nice bunch of people.

*headbangs with TheresaG* My stipend must be in the mail But Insider2, I feel your pain...I got "shilled", if you will, into seeing "The Perfect Crime". Ugh. However, I've done my share of what I more lovingly refer to as "street teaming" or supporting my favorites over the years. Politely, of course....and have met some really wonderful people along the way. I want to see "Speed the Plow" as well. Hopefully it'll make it to the doable list soon.

Happy Halloween! Nov 3

Monday! Unless anyone has some awesome extra tickets for Saturday night they'd like to get rid of.... (there are some further-back still available, but thought I'd check first lol) Been planning this one for a couple of months, but I don't know if I can be in the City for 3 days and wait til the end to get to RoA!

You'll have to let me know how the Edison is... I would probably cave into temptation and go (and work a couple days' extra to get back the ticket price) but the dh will be with me on this trip...$500?? Not even for such a good cause, and C~ with puppies... *sniffle* Guess I'll just have to go to RoA that night to get my fix instead. Such a sacrifice :P A rumor of cast recording in the works...excellent...

Well...Coming over to remember what my screen name is over here! It's been awhile *cough* Wedding Singer days *cough* More cuts, eh? Can't wait to see what the new visual is but I will...I love surpises. Question...Haven't seen it since Kelli's been back...At the part where Mama is telling Drew-Pizza-Boy about the Stacy Jaxx altercation...did they re-instate the slo-mo video to the storyline or was that a permanent cut? That got SUCH big laughs in previews, I was surprised it was cut,

And no coverage. Even the article here on BWW is all about Laura & Max's departure, and nothing was said about Matt. https://www.broadwayworld.com/viewcolumn.cfm?colid=30192 Usually, too, Playbill has some sort of announcement.... Just sounds like a last-minute decision??? ETA thanks so much for the info, Eris...
