re: Drew Sarich as Valjean in Les Miz
 Jul 30 2007, 04:22:12 PM
Wow. Okay, I saw the show Saturday night and it blew me out of the water. The entire cast is dynamite and totally born to play those specific parts. Jean Valjean was fierce, Eponine broke my heart, Javert is a badass, Marius is gorgeous and a fantastic actor. I finally got to see Lea Salonga live, and she tore it up. Ignore the cliche of seeing Les Mis and buy your tickets today. It's fantastic.
Mimi circa summer 2006

This is far fetched, but does anyone know the name of the actress who played Mimi in RENT last summer? She was so fantastic and really through herself and her emotions into the role. I'm sure there were hundreds of Mimi's...but I would love to know what THIS Mimi is doing now.

Sorry for the lack of specifics.

thanks!

re: Spring Awakening- really all that racy?

I saw it at the Atlantic about 10 feet away from Jonathan Groff's ass, with my mom and dad and didn't feel awkward. The show is just too good to be ruined by slight nudity.

I waited at the stage door for The Color Purple and it was pouring rain. The stage manager let my friend and I in BACKSTAGE. We met the entire cast, got to peak on stage and took a bunch of pictures. LaChanze and the girls are incredible. :)

re: Can't wait to see Spring Awakening

I saw this at the Atlantic and was absolutely blown away. I have never seen such a unique production, and can not wait to see it on the big stage. Everyone needs to go see this and appreciate it fully.

The cast is filled with beautiful people. The story is powerful and the music will shock you. So so good. This cast and creative team should be very proud.

re: Jonathan Larson wouldn't want RENT as it is today...
 Oct 9 2006, 01:10:28 PM
I saw the show the for third time this summer on Broadway, and I felt like I was seeing it for the first time. I've never seen acting like this before, and the chemistry between the characters was unlike anything I have ever seen before. I'm an actor and have seen a lot of acting, and this specific performance just really moved me.

Jonathan Larson should be proud of his masterpiece.
