Woeful “Man of La Mancha” at Spotlighters Nov 29
2006, 04:31:55 PM
http://BroadwayWorld.com/l.cfm?id=140384 While I agree almost entirely with your review of Man of LaMancha at Spotlighters, I contest that Kevin Kostic was inspired as the innkeeper, and one of the few actors on the stage that did perform his role well. All in all, the show was a mess. Moreover, other problems with having a recorded score is that it can't adjust for the key of the actors. The entire closing "Impossible Dream" reprise was out-of-pitch and a pain to listen too. As Scroggins performed most of his Quixote songs in a key that was entirely different than that being played. This from a man who teaches singing for a living.

Dance of the Vampires
Was told last summer that its tickets were going to be as HOT as Hairspray's, so I bought both. Sat in an empty theatre for Dance holding full price tickets.

Into the Woods is by far my favorite.
There are too many others to count and name, but I think The Life was highly underrated and ran too short. Think Thoroughly Modern Millie is classic Broadway.
