I enjoyed Xanadu. Thought I'd hate it, but it was entertaining.

How about "Phantom 2...JK LOL"
re: Quick Question: Which JCS Recording?
 Sep 14 2008, 09:47:30 PM
It is available on iTunes, though I'm not sure where to get an actual copy.

And I agree, the 2005 Vienna cast is my absolute favorite recording of the show and the first I ever heard.

re: PHANTOM: Sir Andrew, Hal, and new sound system
 Sep 14 2008, 09:45:17 PM
I'm happy to hear that a new sound system was installed! I saw the show three times on Broadway and twice in Vegas, and I couldn't help but feel that it was more difficult to hear with an older system on Broadway than the year old Vegas 'Spectacular'.

HAHA the title wins!

I have to think about this one though.

Spring Awakening TKTS?
 May 15 2008, 05:23:29 PM
What is the likelihood of Spring Awakening being on TKTS tomorrow around 5:30 or 6? I am planning to get tickets for tomorrow's show. I know it's Jonathan and Lea's last weekend, but there could be a chance.

Thanks everyone.

re: Legally Blonde or Les Miserables?

Les Miz hands down. Don't even put Legally Blonde next to that.
re: How old were you when you lost your Broadway virginity?

10, Into the Woods Revival.

But Phantom was when I became obsessed.

re: Drew Sarich as Valjean in Les Miz

Drew was amazing in the role. His Bring Him Home and his Who Am I were absolutely fantastic. Once he walked out, every single person in in the Broadhurst was on their feet cheering. I really reccomend seeing him. And seriously, his Bring Him Home was worth the ticket price alone.

"Some claim that ALW just rips off Puccini."

ALW rips off himself, haha! Listen to "Jacob in Egypt" from Joseph, and then the theme from Jesus Christ Superstar. Parts of melody are exactly the same!

But I love ALW, for he is the reason why I love musical theatre. I will always respect him.

re: Why do so many people hate......

"SA wont have even that much influence."

Don't be so sure, the teenage years is the greatest time to impact someone. You never know who SA (or any other Broadway show for that matter) will inspire.

re: Why do so many people hate......

From what I have witnessed, the dislike is based on the young kids who make up the fanbase of this show. Same thing with Rent and Wicked. What these older people don't realize is that in 50 years from now, Broadway itself would be dead without those kids. Yes, they may be annoying and may not know much about Sondheim, but the future of Broadway lies in their hands.

Its not the show itself, in my opinion.

Thought ALW was so nice I posted twice.

I'd love to see Drew Sarich as Roger.
re: Which do you prefer - Miss Saigon or Les Miserables?
 Jun 27 2007, 10:51:56 PM
I do not know much about Miss Saigon, but Les Miserables is easily one of the best shows to this date.
