Funny that you mentioned "Anyone Can Whistle"....  Last time we were at City Center it was for that play, but with Raul Esparza and Sutton Foster......   It was great!!   One of her favorite actors and one of my favorite actresses!

It was about 7:10 that someone came out in front of the curtain to announce that two understudies were to be performing that night.  The first was someone in the ensemble, then the Raul understudy.  The theatre was full from what I could see.  Was disappointed at first after hearing that, but Gavin was excellent - he did remind me of the Thenardier character from Les Mis...... 

Gavin was excellent.  Wife (who is a big Raul fan - that's why we bought tickets) thought that the role wasn't exactly a Raul role after seeing it (she compared it to his Chitty Chitty Bang Bang role) and that Gavin was perfect for it....... 

Was Raul in on Saturday?

Bought the tickets basically to see him last night.  Anyone know why hw was out?  The understudy was great though!

Saw it last night and really enjoyed it.  Sat in Seats FF6 and FF7 which were perfect for the show (lots to see at once).  Basically went cuz we are Terrence Mann fans (have seen him in MANY things), and he didn't disappoint, especially his song near the end.  But what blew us away was the dancing/choreography  and the music - fantastic!  I was watching one dancer (shorter with the blond pony tail (Morgan Marcell maybe or Samantha Pollino - not sure which) who was

How was Terrence Mann?  

Any reason that the rows further back are more expensive?  Strange shape of stage.  Was going to buy front row tickets but now I'm not sure that;s a good idea.  Anyone been in there?

After calling to change my seats from front row to row 4, the person I spoke with on the phone basically recommended I stay with what I have.  Don't mind not seeing all the plating etc, since my wife would rather be closer to the actors (she's a big Raul fan, her facebook page has a pic of her and Raul!  lol)...

 

Anyway, thanks for all the input so far!

I called the theatre - they seemed to indicate that at the ends of the first row is handicapped seating.  The middle is just regular seats.  So I went for the first row.

Why is front row seating cheaper than the other rows for this play?

Play is at The Susan & Ronald Frankel Theater - Raul Esparza is in it.

Love Hugh and Sutton!  Will they be performing this together before it gets to Broadway?  Looks like maybe Chicago from Jun 2 29-Aug 4?  If so we may take a trip there, but I see no mention of them there.......
