Raúl Esparza at Sheen Center 12/14

Hi all,

I was looking forward to this, and the universe deemed it wasn't for me. I believe it's sold out, and I have a orchestra ticket (Row D). Looking to get what I paid - $65. I can send you the confirmation number and put the ticket under your name at the box office.

The show is at 7:30 pm on Thurs 12/14.

Please PM me if interested.

Thank you!

Had no idea what this was, so needed to do a mite of research:

An Intimate Evening of Song & Spirit: Broadway stars bare their souls, literally, in these 90 minute interviews featuring revealing talk about their formative influences, their life trajectories, and how their careers have been shaped by their spiritual and social/political worldview. Guests will also be invited to perform two or three songs of their choice as part of the evening. The interviews will be conducted by Edward L. Beck, C.P., priest, author, playwright and CNN Faith and Religion commentator.

Past guests: Vanessa Williams, Kelli O'Hara.

I was there for Kelli O'Hara a couple of months ago. The Sheen Center has a pint-sized little theater with orchestra and balcony. This wasn't well publicized and I don't think it sold out.

Kelli and Father Beck sat down in chairs facing the audience and for 90 minutes the interview was far-ranging into politics and religion. We learned that as a pre-teen Kelli was plump and considered unattractive, and that, as an Irish Catholic, girls from the mainstream Protestant churches would not associate with her.

At intervals during the interview Kelli got up and sang. She sang four songs. accompanied by her pianist for three of them. Near the end Father Beck asked her to perform the song she had sung at the Pope's mass in Madison Square Garden. Kelli stood up and without pianist or microphone sang "The Lord's Prayer." The audience was dumbfounded by what they heard. We had most of us heard her sing live many times, but this was the first time we had really heard her sing live. Such purity, yet also power.

I read that Kristin Chenoweth at her concert appearances early this year had sung her encore without amplification. Maybe there is a small trend developing.
