GOOD NIGHT, AND GOOD LUCK Previews
 Mar 19 2025, 09:31:41 PM

I just saw this evening's preview performance and echo a lot of the sentiments above. It is way too reliant on videos of news clips and projections and not much of a play.

Furthermore, I agree that the montage at the end is wholly unnecessary for driving their point home. Audiences are perfectly capable of drawing the parallels to the times we live in now themselves, as many others on this thread have pointed out. Additionally, the content shown in the montage is INCREDIBLY gra

That's amazing! Sorry for a follow-up question, but do you know which shows?

This is a shame... Do you know if these shows still plan on doing collections?

OPERATION MINCEMEAT Previews

I saw the first act this evening. I actually didn't particularly dislike the show, it just very much wasn't my style. About 20 other theatergoers I passed on the street on the way out felt similarly from what I overhead. I can certainly see how and why this appeals to people, and the show has clearly found its audience. Just wanted to add a different perspective amidst all the buzz.

Denzel Washington to return to Broadway in OTHELLO?

I'm fairly certain that many people have become so used to etix, that they won't even read the comment about printing Tix. But note: phones aren't put into younder pouches until after they are scanned - so this is simply about seating.

Heck, I've had that message to print (not because of Yonder pouches - but saying

Othello is partnering with Yondr to ensure performances are phone-free. Upon arrival at the Barrymore Theatre, all phones will be locked in Yondr pouches by our staff and will be opened at the end of the performance. Guests maintain possession of their phones and can access them at intermission as needed.

I'd like to second and uplift this remark. The word of mouth has felt nearly vitriolic at times. The reviews showcase a range of opinions, clearly showing how this show is not for everyone. But no show is for everyone. I hope the more positiv

Chiming in here to say that, while not perfect, this is far from the worst new musical to make it to Broadway this season. With the right cuts to get it down to the advertised runtime, this has the potential to be a really great and moving show. That great show is in there, it's just a matter of making the right cuts. I will echo what others have previously said on this board and say that Idina is in amazing voice and is giving a great performance. If your desire is to see

Could you detail the “extensive” changes they’ve made? I saw the show again last night after being at the first preview and noticed two very small changes, one of which was an ADDED scene.

Fair enough, but I was mainly thinking of her performance in English, which was extraordinary.

I completely agree with you! So looking forward to seeing her in VAGRANT TRILOGY on Friday. What an exceptional season it has been for Off-Broadway plays!
