Elaine Stritch played Anna!! I recall that Art Frank had to change keys for everything she sang as her range was totally different from any other Anna heard before (or since, I guess) on the professional stage. As it turned out, she worked hard, was a wonderful Anna, and brought her solid acting strength to the role.

Yes, the Elaine Stritch episode was true. We changed keys for performers often. My musicians were VERY adept at that. Most could do it reasonably well at sight without writing out the transposition. Source: Art Frank, Musical Director/Conductor

Afterwards, Richard Todd Adams will assume the role of the Phantom. My source didn't specify how long Richard will be the Phantom, nor what Jason is doing in New York/why he left the tour.

According to http://www.ladyghost.com/sara.html Sara Ford will leave Phantom in June to Star in "Little House on the Prairie- The Musical" as Nellie Olson at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis.

Ok, so I was watching the Phantom tour the other night, and it hit me how much I miss Sara Ford on Off-Broadway! I saw her twice in The Fantasticks, and she had me in tears I was crying so hard! I think she needs to come back to Off-Broadway soon!

Wicked Chicago has been rumored for a long time to close in Jan. and tour '09 and sit down in Toronto '10. I'm just sad that the closing is true

As mentioned, Stritch understudied Merman in Call Me Madam. She also went on to play that role on tour, and in Louisville,Ky.
Wow, Gay Divorce? I doubt thats getting a revival anytime soon!
