That's a shame...I didn't see either the Broadway or London productions and was hoping that possibly there would be a tour

re: Musicals with many female lead roles and a strong ensemble
 Oct 21 2007, 09:47:18 PM
There's Jekyll and Hyde, which has two major female parts (Lucy and Emma) plus several smaller ones (Lady Beaconsfield and another prostitute whose name I can't remember...) and other women are needed for the scenes in the Red Rat.
For men, there's Jekyll/Hyde, Simon Stride, Danvers, and Utterson, who all have significant lines/singing, plus other men on the Board of Governors
The ensemble is involved in Facade, which is one of the first numbers, the several reprises of Facade that occur

Yeah, I wish that more concerts were recorded, like they did with the Hair concert a few years ago

I ADORE Chess!!! I've never been able to see it but the music is incredible.
I've got the Broadway recording and the concept album and wish that the 2003 concert cast had been recorded because the videos that I've seen of it were fantastic.

re: Songs from musicals that make you cry...

I've thought of others...
"Those You've Known" from Spring Awakening
"Back to Before" from Ragtime
The very end of The Woman In White "I close my eyes, and I still see his face"
And actually, most of Taboo
