Folks, Laura Bell Bundy has had this part since AT LEAST July. And I know first hand from the casting director's mouth....

What a tangled web we weave...

Acutally the show isn't really different when Chicago is played by actors of color. It's not the same as if there were say an Asian Ellen in Miss Saigon. THAT changes the story a bit.

Asian women HAVE played Ellen on more than one national tour and major regional production....

Well thanks for the advertising!

The concert promises to be thrilling - if anyone in the area is able to attend, I highly recommend it! Strong cast - amazing orchestra - incomparable venue.

Lance Bass: I'm Gay

I think that a lot of us - being in the theatre, or being in New York - whatever - forget that homosexuals are a minority in the country and are still treated as such. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that there are probably hundreds of thousands of hate-filled people in this country that don't blink an eye at tragedies like Matthew Shepherd and the countless other hate crimes commited against homosexuals in the country EVERY SINGLE DAY. (And I won't even begin to comment on the "reli

You're welcome to your opinion - just don't expect us to instantly engage you or care when it's quite obvious you don't intend to actually be a part of these boards - you're just a shill.

Was watching RENT on Broadway in front of some major Jersey folks. At the most tender point in the show, when Angel is dying, this idiot lady behind my best friend and I turns to someone 5 seats away from her and yells "Is he SICK!?"

So that is now what my friend and I now interject whenever we're watching anyone (on TV that is) in their death scenes!

re: SALARY OF A BROADWAY LEAD ROLE

Completely depends. Base minimum is $1365 - that's just for an ensemble track. The actors' agents negotiate their salaries...Apparantly Matthew and Nathan were each making $100k a week during the producers at some point. I heard (second hand) that Kristen and Idina started out at $5k a week with Wicked and got drastic raises when the show exploded as a hit...

Taylor Dayne as Amneris in Aida. Her belting was the most seemingly effortless WAILING I've ever heard. She was incredible!

Brad Little as the Phantom.

Megan Hilty as Galinda.

"Really? I guess AIDA doesn't count then."

Nobody knew Heather Headley from Adam when she opened Aida. It wasn't until the "new" had worn off the production years later that they had to start the stunt casting - just like every other long running show....

re: JCS Ted Neeley's Farewell Tour
 Jun 17 2006, 12:52:31 AM
I have had three friends that have toured with him on this show before. They all absolutely (and I don't use the word lightly) HATE Ted. "Star" attitude that would put Ms. Lupone's worst stories to shame....

One specifically - they brought in a new Judas who was bringing down the house - Ted didn't like him, so he simply refused to go on. His understudy went on for one performance and the next day, the actor playing Judas was given the option of being relegated to the chorus o

To answer your question, I think there aren't more out gay athletes because they're too afraid of retaliation from their own teammates, as well as the opposing teams....I just recently read an article on this...
