Awwww. She will be missed.
re: How the BLONDE casting plays out (aka: the also-rans who also got cast)

Everyone of you who says Emma got ousted because she's Jewish are STUPID. She got out because she wasn't "it," not because of her religion.

I've liked LBB from day one. I think Bailey has some big shoes to fill.

No, not at this point, I agree. If she works on it, she could be pretty good.
re: Eliza Doolittle - Race an issue?

Honestly, I think some people may raise an eyebrow and not go if the movie Eliza was an African-American. I'm all for it, though. I think Audra's a little too old for this now. I'd love to see Anika Noni Rose or Nikki Renee Daniels as Eliza!

I love Amanda's singing voice, but I think her vibrato is a bit much. Otherwise, I think she'd make a fabulous Glinda.
re: Was anyone at Laura Bell's last show?
 Jul 21 2008, 03:19:38 PM
Aww, I wish I was there for her last show.

I LOVE LBB, but I would like to see a new girl fill her shoes in the West End production. Hopefully there will be a cast recording?

Justin, Selma Blair as Elphaba. Really? L O L.

I guess, but she does have her bimbo moments.

I think Zac would be a great Fiyero. That boy can sing, and he's damn good looker. I don't understand the hate.

re: Little Mermaid - Best it could HAVE been?
 Jul 20 2008, 09:15:00 PM
I thought it was a very cute. This is geared towards young children - not so much for the adults. So, it doesn't have to be PERFECT. Kids wouldn't know the difference. So, relax, jeez. Recognize it as a kid's show, not some musical that should be Tony-worthy.

But Glinda is a bimbo, no? But I agree, Amy wouldn't be right for this.
re: Norm Lewis's Solo Album?

Oooh, I didn't know he was recording an album! I'm excited!

Both were kind of a joke. :)

Kristen could handle it. I don't know about Amy - she was weak in the Enchanted soundtrack, and don't get me started on her performance at the Oscars. But I think if she works on her voice hardcore, she could do wonders.

You have GOT to be kidding me, right?

Kristen Bell or Amy Adams as Glinda
Kat McPhee or Annaliese van der Pol as Elphaba

re: My enjoyment of...was ruined by the fans

Wicked. Throughout the entire show, (well, till the intermission - I left after that), there were a group of girls in front of me who would not shut the heck up. They kept calling Wicked the best "play" to ever exist, and they wouldn't stop talking about Idina even though Eden was Elphie in this production. During the show, they would LOUDLY sing a long to every song badly. They didn't even know the lyrics that well. It was horrible.
