re: Your upcoming season (school, community, professional theatre)
 Jul 19 2004, 08:14:55 PM
I don't know what we're doing, but I know this-teh opne production we have has really professional crew (The director/producer's worked on Broadway and did a movie with Bernadette Peters, the musical director is the rehearsal pianist for Avenue Q) and yet our shows always suck. Why? Our cast really really sucks. They're all really pathetic and have no talent. The one good thing I can say about the show is teh set and they worked hard on it.

I live on Long Island 20 minutes away from NYC (yay!). But I'm only 13 and have never been on Broadway.

In Phantom of the Opera I was in front mezzanine and you could see the wire pulling the chandelier down.

You are so lucky!!!!!!!!! That is so cute...Sutton in pigtails. I remember the auction item. I wish I had been there. Whoever won was really lucky. I met them (together) but I want to meet them again!

I hate Frances Ruffelle's voice. The first rendition of On My Own I heard was Sutton Foster's. I thought, well this is nice, I like this song. I decided to buy the cast recording. When I heard Frances Ruffelle sing it I thought it was terrible and wondered why I wasted 20 dollars on the cast recording.

some of HIS music
re: Andrew Lloyd Webber...

I enjoy some of his music but not everything. I like Jesus Christ Superstar and POTO with the exception of a few songs but I absolutely HATE Evita and Starlight Express, with the exception of the song Don't Cry for Me Argentina. His style kind fo annoys me. I prefer Schwartz and Sondheim.

Michael Crawford...how could I have forgotten him? The first time I heard his recording of The Music of the Night I wanted to shoot myself. And I have to add Yvonne Ellimen (sp?) When I first heard her version of I Don't Know How To Love Him I thought hoedown!

I don't think she's amazingly wonderful that we should all bow and exalt her, but she's A LOT better than Ethel Merman.

Ethel Merman has always annoyed me. And my mom thinks she's betetr than Bernadette Peters! We got into a heated argument about that.
