Drea was amazing on The Sopranos. Many were predicting her to win before she even got cast on Joey. There has been buzz circling her all year.

Thanks, DGrant! How on earth anyone can take my post saying I LOVED Hairspray but had one small disappointment with it and interpret it as my saying the tour isn't good is beyond me! I was thinking of how Millie used a couple of its film's songs in its Broadway score, and it made me curious why Hairspray took the opposite path. I'm not arguing pro or con on either choice, I'm just asking because I am curious. On the flip side, I'd also love to hea

It doesn't matter if the song was written in the '80s. It didn't sound like it one bit!

Small disappointment with Hairspray :-( Jul 29

I FINALLY joined the rest of the theater world last night by seeing Hairspray (Los Angeles) for the first time. I knew nothing about the show other watching than a few production numbers from TV. I loved it except for one thing. I am probably alone in my disappointment and this is probably an old question so forgive me ahead of time! Here goes! I was disappointed that the title song from the movie wasn't used in the stage musical. I loved that song. It's pr

This is a great board. No name dropping in every post. No sarcastic remarks or mean putdowns. Everyone seems so friendly and genuinely nice. :)

re: Millie CD Sampler Question Jul 28

I could be wrong but it really doesn't sound like Sutton Foster. It sounds like someone else. I got the CD at Barnes and Noble in Costa Mesa across from South Coast Plaza. I went upstairs to check out their showtunes section and saw a whole stack of Millie Samplers on a table underneath a sign that read "Win Millie Tickets Here!" The show opened tonight in Costa Mesa so I went over the enter the contest only to find that they were actually giving away tickets to the LA production that had alread

Thanks for the quick replies. It's definitely not Kristin but it could be Erin. It's been so long since I heard Erin sing so I can't be sure. The sampler has three tracks: Thoroughly Modern Millie (with different lyrics than the Broadway recording) and Forget About The Boy and Jimmy. It's a fun collector's item but I wish they would credit the singers.

I used to post at ATC but I think I'll be migrating to this board from now on. There's too many namedroppers over there. Everyone is always finding ways to work in who they know or who they ate lunch with the other day. It gets old real fast.

Millie CD Sampler Question Jul 27
2004, 05:41:06 PM
Hi I am new. I was a longtime lurker and now I'm a member! My question is about the free Millie CD sampler I picked up at Barnes and Noble the other day. I expected it to be highlights from the show but it's an all new recording! what is even more interesting is Millie. It doesn't sound like Sutton Foster. Does anyone know who it is?
