I agree

Posted: 9/19/04 at 11:00pmARRESTED DEVELOPMENT needed this award to ensure another season. The show is hilarious and deserves to be seen, so the decision to give it to them was the right one this year.

The opposite of creation isn't war, it's stagnation.

Posted: 9/19/04 at 11:07pmarrested development is the funniest show i've seen in years. it has already been renewed- in about june i think it was- but perhaps this will ensure more viewers? i'm glad it didn't suffer the same fate as the equally brilliant fox shows freaks and geeks, wonderfalls, and andy ricter. now if only american dreams, everwood, and gilmore girls would get more attention!

I don't know what this has to do with Broadway, but...
Arrested Development deserved this win. Sex and the City is very overrated, IMO. I think Arrested Development is one of the most geniunely funny shows I've seen, and they don't need big named stars playing shallow characters dressed in designer clothes in hip settings to be funny.

Posted: 9/19/04 at 11:31pmI've never seen Arrested Development. I did want SATC to win because I loved the show so much. It was so nice that Cynthia Nixon won for best supporting actress (at least).

Posted: 9/19/04 at 11:32pmSex and The City was dull this year. There's something wrong when a Russian guest star gets more airtime than three of the regulars. If it hadn't been its last season, I would have given up on the show.

i thought it was picked up for a whole season but i could be wrong. i have a selective memory. which maybe explained when i tell you that i identify with the bluthe family. anyway yeah let's hope a good crowd forms for the season premire and the networks can see that america isn't too dense for a good show (down with reality tv and all the laugh track shows!). and what does this have to do with broadway someone asked... well hmmm sarah jessica was in once upon a mattress and is married to matt brodrick who of course was one the producers, and um... ron howard produces arrested development, and he was on happy days with henry winkler who was in the dinner party on broadway, and... brian grazer (sp?) also produces arrested development, and he created malcom in the middle which stars frankie muniz who was in agent cody banks with hillary duff, who is on the disney channel with christy ramano, who was belle in beauty in beast. so see? it does have something to do with broadway.
(for those of you who may have noticed my absence, i had sinus surgery on the 9th and this is the first time i've been able to get back on the computer.)

I would rather SATC won for best comedy then SJP alone. I don't think it's fair to give the award to one and not the other three. I think they work better as a whole than alone.
And did you see Jen Aniston when they announced that she lost... holy crap did she look pissed. haha...

Posted: 9/20/04 at 8:16amMost of us on the west coast felt the same way about Drea DeMatteo winning. It was most definitely a move to insure the success of the new "Joey" sitcom. All award shows are political, we should be used to that by now.

YAAAAAAAYYYYY Arrested Development!
I love this show. I'm sorry, I just htink SATC is kind of...dumb...but that's just me.
Arrested Development is witty and hilarious and it deserved to win this year.

Posted: 9/20/04 at 3:31pmAl, what you say about Drea's win may have an ounce of truth, but there is no denying that her performance on THE SOPRANOS this past season was incredible. I am so glad she won. And, I agree about ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT. I still think Liza deserved a nomination. Will she be back?

I haven't watched the Emmys in years nor have I given a damn.
Mainly, I guess, because I'm too cheap to pay for cable and only cable shows win nowadays.

I believe Liza will be back.
AD certainly deserved it. SATC wes a bit lackluster in its last season, while AD was fantastically witty and consistently brilliant.

Posted: 9/20/04 at 7:29pmDrea was amazing on The Sopranos. Many were predicting her to win before she even got cast on Joey. There has been buzz circling her all year.
