Martin Guerre (either production). Actually, the cast recordings weren't all that great, but I really wanted to see this show.

Well I enjoy the cast recording of A Chorus Line but never saw it on Broadway. Does that count?
And hang on, when did you win the discus?

Honestly, almost all of my cast recordings.
Zanna Don't is a recent one I wish I saw. Sometimes I want to just let go and see a cheesy, upbeat musical.

We'll go for more recent ones. I could list shows for days that I would have loved to have seen.
"You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" - '99 Cast
"Annie Get Your Gun" - '99 Revival
"Thoroughly Modern Millie" OBC

I saw Martin Guerre in London. I Love the music and thought it was a good show. But it did seem to be a lot like Les Mis (not the plot but the music) did anyone else feel the same way?
What is your dream role?
My dream role would be to be myself. To be performing at the Hollywood Bowl and to have an audience there just to see me, as Stephanie. They are there because they like what I do as a singer, an artist and a person (the last being the most important). I enjoy escaping and portraying other characters, but to be accepted and wanted as yourself... that's amazing! --Stephanie J. Block
Just one of the many reasons I admire and respect Stephanie!!

The score definitely had more in common with Les Miz than Miss Saigon (the other Boublil-Schonberg musical), obviously, but I think the orchestration had a lot to do with it. Martin Guerre's music is somewhat more intimate and subdued than Les Miz's sweeping score. A good recording to check is the 1999 one; the orchestrations are different (not as good, IMO), much more minimalist, but it exemplifies the musical difference between the two shows more.

Almost every cast recording I own falls under this category, but as of this moment I think City of Angels and A Chorus Line are the ones I'd love to see the most. Both with their original casts.

All of my cast recordings are of shows that I haven't seen except for Rent, Assassins (the original, but I'm getting the new one soon), Wicked, and Little Shop of Horrors (the original, but I'm NOT getting the new one any time soon
). I would have loved to see any of the others I have.
