re: A CHORUS LINE Questions
 May 13 2009, 01:10:08 PM
I have a lot of trouble believing that Lopez left the show to go talk on his cell and missed his cue to come back.

Sorry!

re: standing ovations?

When I was at Gypsy (not the last performance) there was huge thunderous applause when Patti entered...and I wouldn't say a full SO but there were definitely a handful of people that jumped up.

re: Weirdest Lyrics in a Broadway Show...

"Marius: Hey, Eponine, what's up today?I haven't seen you much about.
Eponine: Here you can always catch me in.
Marius: Mind the police don't catch you out!"

I always thought this was so weird...especially, "Here you can always catch me in." Does that even make sense?

Thanks to everyone for the helpful advice!

Since I'm not going til July, I guess most of the discount codes (if any...hopefully there will be some!) won't be available for shows around that time for a bit...I guess I'll keep checking around every now and then!

What would YOU do?
 Apr 14 2009, 11:19:05 AM
Another one of these....

Planning a trip to NYC in July.

a. What would you see if you had the choice of 2 shows?

b. What would you buy in advance vs. last min discount tickets?

c. Would you wait until closer to July to see what is still around, and/or do you know of any new shows that are planning to drop around that time?

Thanks so much! :)

Thank you dramamama. I posted at the same time and didnt get to read your reply. Thanks again!

hm. okay thanks.

As you may imagine, that didn't really provide me with much. Where is it? How long is the line up/wait usually? Is every show available to purchase?

Any advice/helpful hints would be appreciated. need not post sarcasm, thanks.

Pardon my complete and total ignorance...

...but how exactly does TKTS work? I've always just bought my tickets ahead of time via the interweb (for fear of losing out completely) but have an upcoming trip to NYC and am wondering what I should know ahead of time!

Thanks!

Does anyone know if/when/where this will show in Canada?

theatre2, i never realized you wanted cry baby as a cast recording. huh. this is brand new information.
re: Question about pre-recorded tracks
 Mar 30 2009, 01:20:01 PM
"The Wizard's vocals in the opening number of Wicked ("have another drink....") are pre-recorded."

Really?
Does anyone know the reasoning behind this? I can understand why the melting scream would be pre-recorded, but have no ideas about this.
Thanks!

re: ID SAY ADAM LAMBERT IS DONE WITH THEATRE
 Mar 19 2009, 01:33:32 PM
"I can say, with certainty, even if he wins, Adam Lambert will never be a successful recording artist."

That's a pretty serious claim.
Not that I actually care, but how can you seriously say this? Are you behind the music industry?

Okay, first of all, "his" rendition of Ring of Fire was not his rendition. He did not arrange it, Jeff Buckley did.

If he got up there and sang Garth Brooks or Brad Paisley he would have looked and sounded ridiculous. Kudos to him for not pretending to be someone he is not.

I personally liked it. He is a breath of fresh air amongst a bunch of clones (with the exception of a few, of course.)

I use the term "confusion" very loosely.

I said there were a lot going on at the same time, but I don't think that's a bad thing....this is a cute game and the OP is quite creative for thinking it up!

re: Looks like STORY OF MY LIFE will get a cast album after all...

Can there ever be a thread about cast recordings without theatre2 bringing up cry baby????

Excited for SOML! Great news!

This is fun, but there are so many going at one time! :)

Here are some more to add to the confusion:

- Look, comes.

- Way, do.

I can't listen to the Les Mis OBCR or the CSR without getting goosebumps (especially during certain songs!)
