re: Peter and the Starcatchers Feb 2

I'm so glad that you and your son are comming to San Diego for a Birthday Aventure! In keeping with theme of pirate ships, San Diego has a great waterfront with a wonderful old ship called the Star of India that is now a museum! The La Jolla Playhouse is a cool place to see a show - all of the seats are good! And you might even get to meet the cast after the performance! Seeing a play here is very different than seeing one in New York or Chicago... The Playhouse is on the UCSD

Dear Toddlisatyriem, Even though "Peter and the Starcatchers" is only a "barebones production" at the La Jolla Playhouse, it might be worth the trip to San Diego at this time of year! It's beautiful right now! Sunny and dry, 69 degrees today(Sunday), but will be continuing to warm up to 76 degrees Monday and Tuesday. We hardly ever have rain and we NEVER have snow, so it is absolutely a good time to come to San Diego for a weekend, see the show, go to the beach, go to the Zoo, Seaworl

re: How come Columbia's cast albums were always so superior up through the Nov 24

The conversation about the sound quality of those early Columbia cast recordings of Broadway shows makes me nostalgic for all the Columbia LPs my mom used to buy from the Columbia Record Club when I was a kid in the 50's and 60's. Even though we lived in California and never saw a Broadway show when we were kids, the 5 of us used to play those Columbia cast recordings over & over- singing, dancing and acting out the shows! Those recordings transported us to another world! I didn't start going to

Dear ColorTheHours048, My comment about someone being a "snob" was not directed at you, sorry, but rather someone else, but somehow it was was posted in the wrong order! Please, smooth your feathers, no one is going to tie you to a chair and make you watch musicals you hate, over and over again! No, I am not trying to be your grandmother!

I'm sorry, my dear boy, but I think you are a snob! Most of these kids are still in high school! This is an original community theater production, not a big budget Broadway musical, or a national tour of a tried & true classic like "Music Man" - it's actually refreshing! Don't be afraid to try something new or give someone new a chance to shine! This would be boring old world if we kept repeating the same old shows over & over again!

re: Allison Case in Mamma Mia Nov 21

Dear Mr. "Wonderwall", I have read that HAIR goes into previews in early February, but I am not sure how long Allison is staying with Mamma Mia. I first saw Allison singing in a Musical Theater class at UC Irvine when she was a first year student there and it was evident even then that she had all the makings of a star. She is such a sweetie and everyone who knows her is so proud of her and happy that she is now working with Carolee Carmello on Broadway. It's wonderful when truly nice people lik

Dear Mr. "Wonderwall", I'm glad you actually know how to write nice things about a performance, but I want to dig up some "old bones" with you, young man...about your not-so-nice comments about Allison Case's performance in Mamma Mia(10/11). Allison had food poisoning when you saw her on stage and was in the hospital the next day! It's too bad that you had the misfortune of seeing Allison perform when she was so sick, because she really is an engaging performer. You'll have to go back to the the
