re: What shows did you do in high school?
 Sep 7 2017, 10:58:17 AM

Freshman - Barnaby Tucker in Hello Dolly

Sophomore - Charlie Cowell and various River City folk in The Music Man

Junior - Daddy Warbucks in Annie

Senior - Narrator in Into the Woods (first high school production in the country, or so we were told at least)

Price, Significant Other, or Glass Menagerie?
 Feb 28 2017, 12:46:23 PM

I'll have a free night in NYC next Friday and am wondering how to spend it.  I'm going to Sunset on Thursday and was thinking I'd mix it up with a play.  Glass Menagerie has some sentimental value because I was cast as Tom in high school (but we never performed it -- rehearsal schedule fell apart).  The Price also looks good, though I'd have to get a partial-view box seat.  Significant Other seems intriguing, though perhaps the huge availability of seats on

Apologies for the late follow-up.  OP here.  Our tickets were legit!  We were not first in line but we were definitely near the front, so who knows -- but the barcodes scanned notwithstanding the irregularities on the tickets, and we had no trouble at all . . . except when my daughter, who swore she didn't need to use the restroom before the show, needed to go at intermission so we had to fight our way down to the basement and back up to the rear mezzanine during those 15 minutes.  :)

Cool, thanks for the clarification.  I've stopped worrying about it at this point -- we'll go in a few weeks and either get in, or not.  Either way, the sun comes up and the world still spins.

How Did You First Hear About Hamilton?
 May 11 2016, 11:38:56 AM

October 13, 2015.  A meeting at work with a semi-retired partner who casually mentioned that he had just seen this "modern" musical about a founding father.  I immediately assumed he meant Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson but he went on to say it was about Alexander Hamilton and featured rap and hip-hop.  Given his age and usual interests I was surprised that he liked it so much, so I figured I should check it out myself at some point.  Then I promptly forg

"The ticket should have the original buyer's name. Do some recon, find their fb or whatever, you should be able to get an idea of what's up."

Actually the PDF from StubHub does not have the name of the original purchaser.  I believe this is intentional on the part of StubHub, because their fine print talks about acting as a middle man so that the actual buyer and seller are never in contact and know nothing about each other.  Obviously if they left the original

Yep, as noted, my tickets are for June 5 so I haven't tried to use them yet. I've been keeping an eye on TM and SH resale though and have not yet seen the tickets I bought being offered for sale again at either site, so I'm taking that as a good sign.  :)

" i would highly recommend using SOLD;, Robert, Ty, James, and Louis were wonderful!  very professional, friendly, and reliable.  The cost for the 36 hours plus the ticket was $539.50. "

Just to be clear, you mean $539.50 for each ticket?  i.e. one-fourth of the $1450 for SOLD ($362.50) plus the $177 price of the ticket?

When I first read this I thought you meant $539.50 total and was

Sorry ---  it doesn't work that way.  You can get there 2 weeks early -- but if you have a fake and the person with the "real" ticket shows up at 8:05pm then it's their seat.

Many thanks to all for the responses.  I am going to try calling the box office, then TM, then StubHub to see if anyone can do anything to confirm the validity of the tickets (or at least confirm that they are not totally fake, even if they may be duplicates).

I went with StubHub only because there are NO resale tickets on this date via TM (which seems odd in itself) and for a variety of reasons this was by far the best date for us.  I wouldn'

Yesterday I broke down and went on StubHub to buy four tickets to the Sunday June 5 performance of Hamilton.  I've received and reviewed the electronic tickets (sent as a PDF) and am wondering about a couple things I'm seeing on them.

1.  On the left side of the ticket in the gray area the date 19FEB16 appears.  I'm assuming that means the purchase date?  And if so that has me nervous because I know things have been pretty well sold out.&nb

Something Rotten and Les Miz Rush

Has anyone rushed these shows lately?  How good are the seats and how quickly do they sell out? Is TKTS a better option?  (There are three people in my group, if that matters. We're thinking about a Wednesday matinee for SR and Wednesday evening for LM.)

Thanks!

Thanks to all who answered my questions from last week.  The two-tickets-per-person limit obviously was essential information to have, given my situation!

Many of you mentioned having two "bodies" in the line to be able to get two pairs of tickets.  Can the body be a minor, i.e. can my 13-year-old daughter stand in line with me and "buy" any tickets that come available to her after I've already bought two, even though it will be obvio

Hi all, I've been following this thread for a while now and as our trip to NY nears I had a question or two that I'm hoping someone here can answer.  I will preface these questions by saying, yes, I realize the chances of everything working out are slim and none, and I'm prepared to accept that -- but I'm still interested in if it's even possible.  OK, here goes:

1.  I see from other responses that you can pass up a single ticket if you re
