AUDRA GYPSY Reviews Dec 19

Right? Bland, half-hearted direction and design shouldn’t get rewarded because one person’s performance. But it happens too often, like seemingly here.

Hoping for universal praise. I greatly enjoyed this play and found the writing incredibly sharp.

We saw this Saturday and I can't stop thinking about it. The last show that has been like this to me was Leopoldstadt, the last musical was Kimberly Akimbo.
I need to make a trip before our planned April return to catch this.

GLENGARRY GLEN ROSS To Play The Palace Starting 3/10/25 Dec 10
2024, 11:00:20 PM
Got row J tickets for $169 each which seems like a good deal. The seat next to us is literally $395.
I am excited to see this cast on stage in a show to me that should do well to highlight their skills.

Caught this Saturday afternoon and it was fun camp. It isn’t breaking ground and the music isn’t memorable but it’s great fun and Hilty is doing great work here.
I agree with the others that say the 2nd act felt long - it did to me as well.
It’ll do well in tours I bet.

I too was there today and what a blast. A great play that is timely.
Sidenote. It was almost ruined by the woman next to me talking the entire show, eating candy and smacking her lips nonstop. If it had an intermission I’d have found another seat or asked to stand up somewhere. UGH

Saw this tonight. Clocked in at 2:50
It felt a LOT like Funny Girl pre Les Michele to me. A show that needs … something. Joy Woods and Audra bring it, but otherwise it is missing something. I can see the Audra miscast belief because she plays Rose as much more angsty but it worked for me.

I had never seen a live production of Sunset until tonight. Nicole’s performance is up there with the best actresses I’ve ever seen. She is extraordinary.
The technology used is incredible as well. No lag in that camera work is a huge deal.
So glad I got to see this. We see Gypsy tomorrow night and I look forward to comparing them.

WHERE is Glengarry 2025 show gonna play? Dec 6

unless they get a big name for this, we're looking at another flop at the Palace. Why would any play want the Palace?"
They have the big names signed on already.

"big names"? not really."
Culkin very well win the Oscar for best actor for his work on Real Pain. Burr is one of the largest comics. And Odenkirk has his own large following.

First reviews are pure whiplash. That usually means the show is middling. Ugh

MCC's 'SH!T. MEET. FAN.' Cast Announced Nov 2
2024, 08:50:35 PM
Caught this today and had an enjoyable time with this cast.
That said it’s a poor man’s God of Carnage. The “arguments” are one or two notes only with little depth.
I really disliked the ending as well but to be fair I love dark stories so even though the very, very end was a dark twist it made me think of early 2000s tropes

SWEPT AWAY Previews Oct 29

I think this will be a very polarizing show. I pretty much hated it in DC, my wife pretty much loved it. And we usually have the same taste in musicals.

Dear Evan Hansen... What did i just watch? Oct 27

This was exactly my take and I saw it two weeks after opening on Broadway. Platt’s performance was extraordinary and I think that hid the horribleness of the character for a lot of folks.

A friend went and actually left at intermission - I have not had a chance to connect with her to get the full story on why though.

The show we need to see is actually a few days before, go figure! It’s almost always on TDF but for this instance I need 5 tickets and want to ensure everyone is together.

Majestic Theatre Renovation! Sep 10

I hate to be negative but …
The picture quality of these images is breathtakingly bad. How is this a thing in 2024? You’d think a reveal would get someone with any kind of photography skills.
On to the Majestic. It looks drab to me but that could be the terrible pictures.
