This is a nice surprise! Looking forward to it.
Studio Seaview is off to a great start with their planned and rumored slate for their inaugural programming. They’re obviously going to try to attract as many stars as possible whenever they can, but hopefully, it doesn’t just become a race to see how expensive Off-Broadway pricing can get.
In the course of a year we’ve gotten Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson and now John Krasinski on stage in NYC. Next we need a two-hander for Angela Kinsey & Jenna Fischer.

Don't forget Jan Levinson (no Gould) in McNeal
Yes!!!!!!
It’s been an amazing year for fans of “The Office”. Now I want Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak in “Virginia Woolf” lol
Is this the “Unititled Seaview Production,” or something different?

Considering the dates of the run are exactly the same, I think it’s safe to assume it’s the same. They were probably casting an understudy/standby and if there’s a second character that pops up (it’s described as a one-man show, but I don’t know the play, so who knows).
The EPA had two characters listed:
JOE: White. Non-binary. AMAB. 18+ to play 14. A teenager who doesn't see their divorced father very often but is ready to see their father and tell their father something very personal and very vulnerable. Even though they know their father may not take it well. Smart, strong and clear.
ROGER. THIS ROLE HAS BEEN CAST. 40- 50s. He/him. White. Having a mid-life crisis and spending a lot of time on the internet.
Curious who Joe is.

Can I get that same production but with Steve Carell and Amy Ryan as George and Martha?
I'd see Krasinski is almost anything. Such an underrated actor.

The press release for ''Angry Alan'' touts John Krasinski's ''highly anticipated return to the New York stage,'' but his accompanying bio mentions nothing whatsoever about his stage credits - only his work on film and TV. I had to go to ibdb.com to be reminded that Krasinkski once received a Theatre World Award for his debut in ''Dry Powder'' (2016) at the Public. Elsewhere, his Wikipedia entry says he did some Off-Broadway readings early in his career while he was a waiter, and he made his stage debut as Daddy Warbucks in his 6th-grade school production of ''Annie.''

They would be a perfect cast! Steve Carell and Melora Hardin could pull off some toxic, addictive relationship as well. "Dinner party", anyone?
Majority of seats are $200 to almost $400. A few $87 seats for each show look to be set aside but they’ll no doubt go very fast.

Yep. The new standard, unfortunately. Snatched one of them for an early preview.

this theater for the 1% thing is just awful and off-putting
I also want to understand why the pricing went from $87 to $177 with nothing inbetween.
Atleast when this nonsense was going on at the Lortel, the Lortel foundation was making money as a landlord...

I don't disagree with the overall sentiment here, but "the 1%" has to be one of the more frequently used terms that has lost its precise meaning.
The 1% in this country are ridiculously wealthy. These ticket prices are easily affordable for many in the top 10-20% who still have significant wealth.
Some interesting data on the different wealth levels:

I was able to grab two $87 tickets for July but I’m trying to figure out why they were so cheap compared to the rest of the tickets? I’ve sat in that theater many times and I don’t think there’s a bad seat in the house…
There's not a single seat left for any show at $87 unless it's a wheelchair. Guess I'll pass.
I also waited too long to go check and see all the non-wheelchair $87 seats are gone. Had it just been the front row at that price?

Greg Nobile and Seaview clearly don't think we're headed to a recession with these ticket prices...
