CAROUSEL (2018) Previews Mar 2

Before I saw Carousel Thursday night, I'd never seen the show live. I'd listened to all the cast recordings and counted it as my favorite musical I'd never seen performed live. So as someone who was in the shoes of the poster who asked whether this was a good introduction to the show live, I thought I should chime in. I think many of the other posters have highlighted the things that might give you pause - I didn't love the choreography, and I thought the chemistry between Jul

I saw the OBC twice and they were magnificent, as I'm sure you would imagine. As for the comments about the replacements on Broadway, I've seen it twice since the OBC left. I won the lottery in November and must admit that I was somewhat underwhelmed (although I loved Javier!). I also saw it in July of this year and I thought the cast was much stronger. In particular, I adored Anthony Lee Medina, and while there is no replacement for Daveed, I thought James Monroe Inglehart was incred

I've loved reading everyone's reactions to this amazing show. Seeing this in January finally convinced to stop lurking on this board - and I was totally one of those people sobbing at the end. I think I'll miss seeeing it on the big screen, but still have my fingers crossed for a showing on PBS very soon!

I'm mainly a lurker - but I also got the email promising reserved seats for Shakespeare in the Park to make up for difficulties booking member tickets. I haven't heard anything from the Public about following through on that offer. Have others heard from the Public about booking those tickets? I want to see A Midsummer Night's Dream more than I wanted to see Julius Caeser, so am curious to hear others' experiences.

Falsettos Closing Performance Jan 10

Sunday was my first time seeing the show (and this is my first post) - but it felt very special. The audience was enthralled, including audible sobs throughout the last several songs. Although I have no point of comparison, the show was electrifying, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. I've been listening to the cast recording non-stop. Can't wait for the PBS broadcast.
