Yeah personally I'm glad she didn't get the part, would be nice to see that side of her sometime though and I'm sure she won't give up on that part, she's said she still will pursue it...
I would like to see her originate a role and go ahead and get that damn Tony for all these critics... :)
She and her nonexistant lisp were nominated for Englands equivalent the Olivier, for her role as Sandy on London West End... :)

She was up for the role of Elphaba in Wicked.
The producers went with a unknown at the last minute according to her...
She does have a compilation cd coming out very soon at her website deborah-gibson.com only, 20 song set with unreleased material all the way back to 1982 according to her.
Still doing the west coast thing... She's single again too if ANY straight guys are on here, though she said once she does like dating gay ones...lol

I totally agree!
I could come on here just because I don't like Barbara Streisand and say she's a fat hag, and sounds like a dying calf in a hail storm to me (try and take my gay license if you dare lol), but I won't because I have respect for her work whether I like it or not, as well as respect for her fans.
There's not one thing wrong with Colored Lights either Albin I'm sure she thanks you for the album promotion...

Anyone that really knows much at all about her knows she has auditioned for every part she has ever EARNED, her TALENT won out. Post all the negative you want I won't respond anymore.
Enough said.

Does anyone know if Mary Poppins is due on Broadway anytime soon?
Another possiblity is Rent she's talked about it quite alot.

So far the rumors are
Others: Elphaba in Wicked.
mine :Shelby in Steel Magnolias.
And someone else has suggested: Christine in Phantom
Any other ideas, guesses at this point???

Yes I just turned 32, don't see what that has to do with anything. Except that I've been a fan through the yrs with her, like we've grown up together somewhat. I relate to alot of what she sings about, hits or not...
As I previously said I've seen her live and NEVER heard a lisp, and also NEVER seen 1 credible source (ie: CNN news scoop, though this sounds like something FOX News would hop right on) that there is a lisp at all.

This lisp you're talking about is UTTER BULLSHIT. I've seen her live several times and there was NO LISP. She's awesome.
Maybe you need to quit worrying about whether she's got talent and go clean the wax out of your ears, and listen to a freaking Barbara Streisand album and get over yourself.

She's played everybody Belle, Cinderella, Gypsy, Eponine, Roxy, Velma, and had great runs for all but only Fanny in Funny Girl though I heard she was great in it as well. She's proven herself and made her mark like it or not, why anyone wants to doubt the great DG is beyond me. Anyways, the Broadway On Ice with her rumoured to be strapping on skates herself as well as singing, and also starring Jennifer Holiday is old news to her fans, this is not what the new "major role on Broadway" she stated

She said on the radio this past w/e.
She is up for a "new major role on Broadway" the biggest of her career.
Possibly it's a show in the works and not currently running.
Sounds exciting none the less.
