Well, ladies and wannabes, it's been fun, but I see I'm casting my pearls before swine. Therefore, you can wallow in your inane comments and ignorance, and take your sock puppets and wear them where they'll fit the best. The lights of BROADway are just too dim for me. So, yet again, happiness is my birthplace, New York, in my rearview mirror.

Not defensive...loyal. There is a difference. I don't like it when anyone who is important to me is disrespected, especially when it's undeserved.

I don't throw my panties, bras, keys or anything else. I have met him, talked with him, posed for a photo with him...don't NEED to demean myself by throwing stuff. I approach him with dignity and respect, and that's the way I'm treated. I'm not wild-eyed and screaming...don't try to rip his clothing off...I do just fine by being a lady. I wai

dollypop...I don't recall Engelbert EVER saying he was a hunk. My daughter-in-law (early 40s) classified him as a hunk and very hot. I don't know how old you are...but maybe you need to get your glasses changed. I'm near Enge's age, and have seen him up close, and he is a HUNK.

Being sexy or a hunk has nothing to do with age, as I stated previously. It has to do with grooming, a look, an overall attitude and a belief in oneself. He has had no plastic surgery done, which is a plus, and

Yes, dollypop, but that Engelbert died in 1921. You need to come into the 21st century, my dear, and learn about the Engelbert we're talking about. A wonderful singer, showman and PERSON. If you've never seen him, you're missing the boat.

If you meant your comment for the snide remark of the day, and an insult, you missed the mark.

Many have tried, but none have succeeded, they only end up looking dumb, and it's hard to have a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent. Linda F.

Aw-w-w-w-w Poor Senor Sock. Never paid much attention to Talk Soup...don't enter the vast wasteland of TV often. I'm sure he's in a better place, now. Linda F.

Right on BillyMac.

Apparently lakezurich is getting his/her chain yanked pretty thoroughly and is getting very upset. I find the juvenile comments funny, and, remember...lakezurich....no one is forcing you to read our posts. I rarely see someone get so worked up about a subject of which I seriously doubt they have any knowledge. Rant on lakezurich, you only demean yourself.

I imagine you're right about Ms. Sterling hearing from most of us, and rest assured there are many, and

Well said Bobbie. Check the Engelbert Humperdinck heading for Enge4024's and my remarks. We are asking that Ms. Sterling apologize for disrespecting Engelbert. BTW, I'm Linda F.

In case anyone is wondering, the article we are upset about is "Engelbert Humperdinck at the Orleans" written by Ellen Sterling on June 13. About the only GOOD thing she had to say is that he's a master at ballads. Otherwise, she made him, and his fans, sound like doddering nursing home residents, and basically, made fun of him and the audience. I have seen him many times, and there are all ages in his audience, including young women, AND young men, as well as his solid fan base who have been lo

Amen to all that Enge4024 said, and more! I echo her thoughts completely.

My 40-something daughter-in-law described him as a "Hunk" and a "Hot, sexy man, with the pipes and moves to go with it!" That was last month! When someone is as handsome and talented as Engelbert, age means nothing.

The author of the article made him sound crude, when in reality, his jokes are based on the name Humperdinck. Which, yes, was the name of an 18th Century German Composer. He wasn't using it an
