Okay, I will compile a list of musicals and songs which are NOT the one I am looking for.Let me begin here:-I am fairly certain it is not a musical written prior to Little Shop of Horrors (1982) as the style is more modern. But, ironically I do find some resemblance to "Suddenly Seymour."-It didn't seem like a period piece, so it can't be Grease or Miss Saigon, or something like that. I remember the costumes being clearly from the "present day."Let's start there. More to come.

"Seventeen" is great. It has a new-wavy vibe. I can't remember a single lyric from the one I'm actually thinking of. But I know they really belt the lines. I suppose you can describe it as souring. "Seventeen" is not really soaring in that way.

A few years back I was driving through I think Spokane and gal on Gonzaga's college radio station had a Broadway show tune radio show. One of the songs she played was a duet between a gal and a guy. If I remember the gal started on her own, and then the guy started and they were singing different melodies, but were making a beautiful harmony. They were singing in a poppy, almost punky, style.
