Sam Mendes is a master. Jack o'Brien maybe was not the right man for that.

Anyway sets are the most unexpleinable thing for this bway production

 

 

How re they gonna know about audience reviews like your, guys?

I'm not an expert of bway productions, is it possible a re-opening with great changements?

all of this....it really doesn't  seem a broadway production

It really doesn't make sense? Why those changes to set?!   Set design was the only thing they shouldn't have changed

You gotta admit every scene of the WestEnd version was visually enterteining and beautifully made: Charlie's house, the entrance of the factory with that big gate, the waiting room with drawers and the tall ladder, all the factory rooms, each one different from every other one. And the glass elevator at the end. 

Why broadway is doing this?

What about Strike that, reverse it scene?

What about the oompas?

My god why?! Why?!   and what about Wonka appearance during It Must be believed to be seen?

Were the ticket winners songs sang  inside a big TV as in the UK version or what?

My god, reading all this reviews i'm afraid the show won't last too much. Even though WestEnd version had some defects it was absolutely magical and visually outstanding, what's happening to this production?

West End version surely was not cheap. The set design was incredible and magical. The sed designer it's the same of the uk version but it's also true that the theatre royal drury lane is the west end biggest stage. Having said that I'd never expect the set to be cheap or minimalist or too different from the uk version.

So they decided a great and magical show like the west end one for a minimalist one? And adding puppets? And come on what are those little clouds?! It all seems a children play

It would be great to be able to listen to some bootleg recording tomorrow :3
