Jagged Little Pill Coffee Table Book Nov 12 2020, 10:08:49 AM
I was at a local bookshop and saw it on their "just in" section. I thumbed through it, gorgeous photos of course. Can't really speak to the substance, however the price point is too high for me to go for it even causally. I will say having seen JLP on Broadway in January it made me tear up a bit to remember how fantastic and moving that show was.

Michael Riedel's next book –– Nov 12 2020, 10:06:45 AM
So I purchased this and finished it on my day off yesterday. Some thoughts.
First having read "Razzle Dazzle", I was impressed with how human it made the entire creative process and history of Broadway feel. so often with mass media it seems to elevate the artists and creatives involved in some type of deity like figures, where everything naturally works out in the end. This book too refreshingly humanizes the process and the artists. it w

Andy Karl tonight Apr 17 2017, 05:37:33 PM
I saw Andy's understudy Saturday night. Andrew I think his name was. He did a very good job with this role, he was of course an asshole, but also charming and sweet. You could see him fumbling with a few of the quick changes in the beginning and being behind his beats for the first scene or so, but by about 15 minutes in he found his rhythm and the audience loved it. He really naturally fell into the role, he figured out his beats and how long to pause during audience reactions.

THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG Reviews Apr 4 2017, 09:06:09 AM
I saw this Saturday and have to say what a charming, funny show. Those who say the entire show is akin to the third act of Noises Off are right on. The zany action reaction depict a cast who is woefully incapable of acting, improvising, or handling curveballs and its hilarious. My Cousin who went me is not a theater person, halfway through the fist act he leaned over and said why is this so horrible, at intermission he said its so cute, and at curtain he said that was hilarious I loved it.&nb

SIGNIFICANT OTHER to Announce Broadway Closing? Apr 3 2017, 07:16:42 PM
I will be honestly super surprised if it limps to July. I saw the show and enjoyed it a lot, it hit a few nerves with me. That said the ticket sales have been awful; it can't be turning a profit. Given the small size of the booth, that theater should be easy to fill. But the rear Orchestra was empty and the mezz was less then half full , when I saw it in March. I was expecting a closing announcement, but figured the date would be sooner then July.

AMÉLIE Previews Apr 3 2017, 07:11:21 PM
Hey all, long time lurker first time poster.
I saw this show on Saturday. I went in with mild expectations, based on how well it was supposedly selling. This musical is the definition of a harmless, mediocre, and unmemorable show. It is to be sure based on some really quirky material, but that quirkiness and mischievous charm of the film did not make the leap to stage. The tone constantly shifted or fell flat, ie the random Elton John number. The stand out musical num
