There was a tweet about a backstage injury and a delay in the show about 20 minutes ago. Didn't say who was injured. Hope it's something minor.
He hurt is leg during a moment with a ladder. Finished the show with a cane, huge round of applause. At least that's what Twitter is saying.

My friend was at the show tonight and said Andy may have broken his leg

Hopes all good. Even more hopes he does the show tomorrow. Has tickets.
Hmmmm and press were there tonight as it opens Monday.
Oh no! I really hope he's okay. I'm a big fan of him in this production. Hope he can make it through opening!

Andy's wife confirmed on twitter the injury but said they don't know how serious it is at this time.

That's too bad being so close to opening.
Let's say he is out tomorrow.
Will they still do show or give refunds?
Skimmble? Are you alright?
Did someone say good luck?

Of course they'll do the show. Talented as he is, Andy Karl is not Hugh Jackman.
Ah that's a shame, hopefully it's nothing serious and he bounces right back.

Was planning to rush the show this week having seen it twice in London. Hopefully he'll be back soon before I head home!

This leads me to believe this was during the tap dance sequence where Karl continually runs and crosses the stage while doing good deeds for the town like replacing a tire, etc. There is one moment where he catches a woman falling off a ladder and her cat, so that may be where the "ladder" rumor is spurring from.
Truly hope he is OK. Cannot imagine anything good would come from having an understudy perform during press performances this weekend.

I was there tonight. Andy fell in the tap number about 20 minutes from the end of act 2. From what I could tell, he was racing towards a ladder and fell/slipped. Stage manager came on the god mic and told the cast to leave the stage. Curtain came down and a few minutes later they asked if there was a doctor in the house.
Andy finished the show with a cane - he wasn't putting weight on one leg. Ad libbed quite a bit about it. By the curtain call he was in tears. Crowd was very supportive - immediate standing ovation for him. I hope it's not too serious!

I hope his tears weren't from overwhelming pain (hopefully they were more emotional?). Forget tomorrow's performances - I really hope he'll be better by opening. Would it change his Tony elegibility if he couldn't open the show due to injury?
I guess it would? But I think at this point he'd just do the show injuried if he could.
But I would be curious to see an understudy

Have you seen the show yet? Andy's role is highly physical. He practically never leaves the stage and is always running around. It depends on what the injury is, but I don't think anyone could do that role with a serious injury.
I cannot imagine ANY scenario where the Tony Award committee makes Karl ineligible for Best Actor after getting injured in one of the final previews. I think the producers are more likely to push back the official opening night, but that is a worse case scenario.

They have to get permission, but Andy won't be left out in the cold. It won't hurt his chances. Poor guy.
