Yeah he's really reading the music very carefully. I think as a first-timer and knowing he doesn't have the best voice, he was concentrating more on trying to nail the ranges.

Agreed. I have been playing the new Promises, Promises cast recordings on loop. It's pretty addictive, probably due to the pop element in the music. And TimesSquared, 'You'll think of Someone' is a personal favourite of mine too. It doesn't get as much mention as the other big numbers but it's such a fantastic fun duet and I love the 'tentativeness' conveyed.
Favorite Sean Hayes Jokes on the TONYS
Agree with the Spiderman gag. Especially when he looks down and gets frightened by the spider. Super silly stuff but somehow he sold it. I like his delivery for the Daniel Radcliffe one about how he dropped his pants and blinded some horses.

Agreed that Promises had the better performances at the Tonys than the other musicals (the sound for Fela was off and Memphis had one too many nas). Also doesn't hurt that Sean Hayes (with Cheno) did a very good hosting job. Knowing nothing about the play, I have a different reaction to Cheno's tracks. Absolutely love her version of 'Whoever you are, I love you'.
What cast recording are you hooked on at the moment?
Promises! I don't know about the actual production but the recordings are fantastic and addictive. Cheno is amazing and Sean Hayes has a really soothing voice.
