Do any of the usual excuses cover this? High production costs? Union rules? Inflation?Is he seriously worried about recouping?

Makes me wonder how the fictional characters fared over the years.How do we imagine the 80s and beyond went for the main three, Mary, Franklin, and Charlie?Did Franklin and Charlie ever reconcile? Did Mary ever recover from her alcoholism? Was there ever an Encores! production of Musical Husbands?

I'll admit: these notices make me feel the credit card debt might have been worth it. It's worth it just to avoid regret at missing it, good or bad. Otherwise I'd always wonder and feel pangs forever more. That's how I rationalize it to myself.

I haven't seen much myself, but BroadwayWorld's own review calls it "undoubtedly superior". Shrug. I guess I'm just thirsty for something DIFFERENT. Happy anniversary and all, but I want this current production to end. Enough. Think of the revivals we could've had, the alternative regional productions etc.There's a brand new production running in Sweden right now. Rave reviews. Why can't we have that?I don't think this show should be stuck, on pause, frozen in time forever because of one team of producers. It has lasted this long because it is relatively low-cost and because of stunt casting. The musical is a classic and deserves better. ...

I just looked at my night, out of morbid curiosity. Worse seats than mine for $1000 bucks each. Oh whoopee, you get to skip the lines and a complimentary non-alcoholic drink. Thank eff I just happened to have enough to drop for one ticket a couple of months ago, if I had to save it'd be like chasing the end of a rainbow.

Your off-stated concerns about elitism and pricing are well-represented in multiple threads. I've lodged my complaint, so now I should stay quiet while the rich get richer and the poor get poorer? No. I'll keep discussing it and flying my flags as long as it remains an issue.

Not being able to afford this does not mean you are poor. You can have a reasonably high disposable income and STILL not be able to afford it.I'd say the taped performances are more to make an extra buck based off the celebrity name. Greedy bastards.
