Hello! Tony Award Winner Myles Frost started previews on December 6th of last year. Typically, someone is contracted for a year. Perhaps they'll be an announcement or he'll just slip out quietly but if you want to definitely catch him, doing so in the next six weeks is your best bet.
Considering his performance is highly lauded and awarded, I cannot imagine he will just “slip out quietly”, especially before the busy holiday season.
So was Daveed Diggs and he left Hamilton quietly.

Mr Diggs was not the single most important star of Hamilton. Mr Frost is that for MJ.
Also, replacing Mr Frost is going to a much larger challenge for the production than replacing Diggs.

Myles Frost has 3 understudies, one of whom (Aramie Payton) did about a month of performances last winter while Frost was out with an injury... and by all accounts was outstanding in the role. This is not an impossible role to recast.
Also have to remember that several numbers are by the actor playing "Michael" –– a slightly younger version of Jackson. This is a little sneaky, and the two are so good and in sync that I bet some Tony voters were not tracking where "Michael" ended and "MJ" began, especially when thinking back after seeing it. (And yes there is some racism in that mindset –– but also skillful performing & directing.)

Beanie's agent disagrees - as a matter of fact, he's sending her in for an audition next week.

This joke was never funny but now it’s just boring.

Not in any universe is that true. If you had seen any of his three incredible understudies, you would know that.

Daveed's roles was integral to Hamilton. Myles is integral to MJ but can be replaced by one of his quite talented understudies easily, imo.

Clearly I disagree. But not at all surprised since I rarely agree with you so 🤷🏽♂️
Myles Frost will play his Final Performance on April 2
Elijah Johnson will be the new MJ starting April 4

I’ll be really interested to see what he does next. He’s amazing in MJ, but he’s an unconventional leading man and what I’ve seen of his talents are so specific to this show and the Michael persona. I wish him well.
(Something like the WIZ revival would seem way too obvious; I don’t know if he has Pal Joey in him)

I would lean more towards him opening the London production next year but anything is possible.

Touche, that does make more sense. I'm just thinking in terms of career. He was essentially a nobody (for lack of a better term) who won the Tony Award. So surprised he's not extending and upping his pay. Curious what's next for him.
Glad I snagged an Audience Rewards ticket to see this later this month!
I’m glad he got to make up for lost time - his injury and two COVID absences.
Happy trails, Myles! Hopefully this is just the start of a long, exciting career.

I was originally inclined to ask why they wouldn't just promote Aramie Payton and make Jamaal Fields-Green the main understudy, but this blurb from Playbill answered my question.
""Those of us who worked with Elijah during the developmental workshops knew when his schedule didn’t allow him to join the original Broadway cast, we hadn’t seen the last of him or his remarkable talent," says director-choreographer Christopher Wheeldon. "Though we might have initially seen him as ‘Middle Michael,’ it is so clear to me now that adult Michael is who he was born to play. Myles is leaving behind some pretty big loafers to fill, and Elijah is more than ready to wear them."
Regarding Myles leaving, he's technically been doing the show for almost 18 months by the time he leaves which, even subtracting time he was out for COVID, injuries, other engagements etc, is still WELL more than a year - and in a heck of a physically and vocally demanding role. The kid probably needs a break - especially if they want him to possibly go to the West End (although I doubt they will).

And per the previous comment, because of how long he has been with the show, I highly doubt he will be moving on to the tour. Not only has he been with the show a long time, but the demands of the role PLUS tour? I don't think he'd want to do that.
Per my point, this might be his biggest break yet - like John Lloyd Young in Jersey Boys - so why not ask for a substantial pay raise and do a few months of a tour or London. I don’t think it’s that wild to think.

Unless he has a conflicting film or TV gig, he’d be crazy NOT to open the West End production for the first 10-12 weeks, be the toast of the town for a few months and then pass the torch on to someone else.

Not saying it’s wild. Saying I’m allowed to believe he won’t do the tour or the West End. That’s all.
