Final Tony Predictions in All Categories Jun 4 2026, 11:06:34 AM
I'm generally not a Shoshana fan, but I found her performance in Lost Boys elevated the material. She was able to imbue the show with heart and humanity the rest of the show is sorely lacking. I'd be thrilled if she were to win. I've never understood the praise for Nichelle's performance and a win for her would be wholly unearned IMO.

Ragtime will not be extending to November.

Joy Woods as Sally Bowles May 26 2026, 10:38:01 PM
I'm in my early 30s and have been lucky enough to see Joy in each of her NY theatre credits. While I agree that early in Gypsy's run I was left wanting by her Louise, by the end I thought she was damn near perfect and the way she, Audra, and Danny played off one another was magic to watch. Her Audrey in Little Shop was also heartbreaking. Wish I could see her as Sally and can't wait to see what else she does.
I also mourn the loss of her Sarah in Ragtime. What's happeni

Is it this fall? or 2027?"
A Few Good Men is fall. August is a hard close for Ragtime afaik.

This was a HUGE takeaway for me. They both managed to do that thing drunk people do where they try to stand still but are always swaying slightly or moving a bit. It was brilliant.

CATS: THE JELLICLE BALL Review - 1 Minute Critic May 10 2026, 06:27:37 PM
Those are almost certainly Ken's own costumes as he is quite a bit taller than Andre.
I echo what quizking said. Ard is a really phenomenal Old Deuteronomy, had the audience in the palm of his hand from his first entrance and an incredibly powerful voice.
Will never understand how Tempress wasn't nominated, but such is life.

Otherwise, all the other nominees were pretty spot on."
I continue to be baffled by the praise given to Nichelle's performance. I found her easy to ignore at City Center, a

Encores 2027: You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown; Hallelujah, Baby!; Kiss of the Spider Woman May 1 2026, 01:18:48 PM
Ariana Debose was Aurora in Blankenbuehler's workshops previously and was meant to do it at the Kennedy Center. I assume it will be here at Encores. And if not her, Nicole Scherzinger seems a clear choice.

BECKY SHAW Reviews Apr 26 2026, 12:08:51 PM
Saw this last night and thought it was pretty excellent and some of Cullman's best work in recent years.
The company is really all on the same page, which is a testament to Cullman. And a number of the performances really stand out.
The play is a touch dated, feels very of its time, but the issues it tackles of masculinity and relationships are relevant. It's not a perfect play, but I found it fascinating to see something from 2008 through today's lens. The writing i

They added absolutely nothing to the story and had no great payoff. We don’t need to be reminded every 20 minutes that she’s on her way. If something in those scenes sparked another memory for CeCe somehow, then I could understand them being used as a plot device, but instead they just added to the runtime and forced that hardworking cas

Ben Platt & Rachel Zegler - THE LAST FIVE YEARS (NYC/LA) Apr 20 2026, 06:10:31 PM
I saw this when it was at Radio City and have spent a bit of time listening to the recording today.
Rachel is undoubtedly an incredible vocalist, she sings with such ease and power, but I personally find there to be a lack of emotion in her performances of these songs. She is young and I think needs a director to really pull something out of her. Still, a treat to hear her sing this music.
Platt I was doubtful of when he was announced, but I found his take on Jamie to be v

Saw this Saturday evening and I don't remember a time I have felt so sorry for the entire company of a Broadway show. They are working so incredibly hard and the show is just...not good.
Just because something can become a musical doesn't mean it should become a musical. And this feels like a prime example of that.
The book is trite and dull, huge leaps of time happen in the blink of an eye, character development (if you can call it that)

SCHMIGADOON! Previews Apr 19 2026, 11:54:33 PM
Saw this on Friday evening after enjoying it quite a bit in DC.
The production has upgraded its design elements, it looks really beautiful in a very old-fashioned way.
It's silly and goofy and a little stupid, but I was entertained start to finish and for my money I find this to be the most coherent of the new musicals. It is the most successful at what I think it sets out to do.
The performances are really firing on all cylinders, with highlights for me being S
