Saw it last night with a sold-out audience that was shaking the walls with laughter. Of course, they were mostly seeing their own lives on that stage! No playwright around understands the obsessions, the foibles, and the vocabulary of neurotic middle-aged NYC Jews like Charles Busch. It all remains a very rich vein of humor and Busch is one of its last practitioners. This aspect of New York life is rapidly disappearing and we will be the poorer for it.
