both, i've met him a couple times and we talk just occasionally online, i don't think i'd call us friends though? Actually the last time i went to see the show, a close friend of the actor mentioned that they could've gotten me backstage but they had to head out of town

i'm going to be heading to nyc in a couple weeks and i was hoping to get backstage at the show i'm going to. I do have connections, i'm acquainted with the star of the show (i won't mention who or what show) but i really don't know how to go about asking, is it rude to even ask? i'd just hate to be a bother. help??also, does it take any planning or could they invite me while i'm there?
