By the way one of the things I should have mentioned is Michael, the Director/writer, is a huge musical nerd.There are a ton of homages to other musicals in this, like the color sequence under the opening credits is the same as West Side Story... but I bet some here already knew that. Most went over my head... Micheal would insist on cutting a shot on a particular movement at a particular beat because that's they way it was done in The Sound of Music... Hi I was the DOP for a New Zealand Musical feature film that takes place on stage... its the dress rehearsal from hell in which you still get to see a whole original musical.
