Not gonna lie, I've been putting off buying a ticket and booking a flight because I was waiting for this announcement. Mainly because my inner saboteur convinced me that knowing my luck I would pick a date when she'd come down with the plague or something. lol But she's just gotta be there for her last few shows...right?

Next thought, will I have to hock an organ to pay for said ticket? Hmm?

WOW! I'm not generally a pessimist, but I didn't think the old girl would ever really cross that 2mil finishing line. But way to go! This has just been the perfect storm of great reviews, great word of mouth, and a great star turn performance! Bravo!

They look very pretty together! Almost as pretty as they sound. "Who Are You Now" is just so gorgeous that I can't even imagine that it wasn't always a duet. I loved that Jonathan quote! I tell ya, if my BFF don't fangirl like Groff fangirls I don't want it! lol

I feel like Beanie mentioned in one of her interviews that she did. I have a very vague memory of it. When all of the casting and re-casting drama was going down I mainligned a crap ton of interviews and articles. Because I love mess!!! lol

Watched it! Loved it! What a perfect song to open the big parade with! The cast must have been so hyped! And now they can all go somewhere and be warm. LOL!

Just curious, is Feldman like a make or break critic on the New York theatre scene? Is it like getting a stamp of approval from the NYT? I ask because I notice his name keeps coming up on the thread?

Anyhoo, kind of a silly more general show question, but I got into a conversation with a friend about Princess tracks. Ever since I came across the term a couple of months ago I have been fascinated. As many shows as I did back in high school and college, I don't think I had ever heard the term. Maybe it's a newer term and I"m just old now.I started thinking if Funny Girl had one. Would it be the soloist for His Love Makes Me Beautiful? Or am a missing another character?

I'm slowly making my way through the songs. I'll probably run the whole thing on Wednesday when my kitchen will be all Broadway all day as I cook, lol. I'm holding off on the Finale because that is truly my love. Please, don't tell me there's a glitch! That will bum me out so bad!

My only criticism so far is that I wish they would have included the dialog break before that final part of People. I just love how Lea sings that part in the show and it feels like the Fanny/Nicky stuff gives the proper momentum into it (plus I just love dialog on cast recordings, give me that over the tap anytime). Still, I just love the sweetness and warmth with which Lea sings that song. That Fallon performance really transformed me from being that song's #1 hater out here.

I'm so happy for this cast! In the midst of all the Internet caterwauling, I think it gets lost that this is a lot of these people's first big Broadway gig. Yay for them getting to get this opportunity!

I wonder if the show is just going to ride the waves of good word of mouth and great reviews and not get in some more tv performances? Or at least get Lea on another show like The View or Kelly&Ryan for an interview.

I was trying to find more context for this, but what I gather form other places Adele was mentioning wanting to see the show. And apparently girlfriend is looking at Broadway because she is coming for that EGOT! You go, Adele! lol But does anyone know what this interview is? Or heard the whole Lea mention?

Aww, I was hoping Rosie would get a chance to see the show. A few weeks ago she was on Andy Cohen's show saying that she had tickets the weekend Lea got Covid. My eyes got opened to so many Broadway shows after seeing performances on the old Rosie talk show. I think I even heard of Spring Awakening for the first time and saw the OBC perform on there. Or maybe it was Rosie era The View? My math is not quite mathing right now. lol

Can we please not, guys? Please. 

 

I wonder why the Funny Girl powers that be are being so secretive about the cast album. The Music Man and Into the Woods casts were very active on Twitter and Insta when they were recording their's. I wonder if there's some kind of legal issues involved. I'm very intrigued.
