Thank you for starting this new thread so we can start fresh with the start of Lea’s run.  Hopefully it takes a few pages before it goes off-topic and goes into a total detour like all the other FUNNY GIRL threads.

Yes! Thank you for starting a fresh thread where we can share our reactions to the much improved Funny Girl!  I am heading back to the City on Labor Day and will be there on Tuesday. Cannot wait to hear those gorgeous songs again. What an event.

It's sad that someone had three other threads to put a comment about dumb comparisons in and chose the one solely about Lea Michele. This is about her performances starting next Tuesday as Fanny in Funny Girl!

That was very nice of her.  Hopefully we start getting some chat show appearances of her once she starts with some singing.

All Funny Girl threads bleed into each other because it is the same 6 show queens writing over and over on them. Lea Michelle has not even started.  This thread is already doomed since it is up a little early.  And certainly you taking a attitude and telling people what to do is not going to help.  One could argue that commenting on why all this Julie Benko press is coming out right before Lea Michelle is about to start certainly has everything to do with Lea Michelle and belongs on any of the Funny Girl threads.  I also agree with the Eve Harrington-esque feel of the whole thing.  What's it to you?

I have no attitude about it, threads should stay on topic is all.  And no, this thread doesn't have to be like all the other ones because you presume that. But you're right on the fact that this was started way too early, unfortunately.

Am planning a trip to NYC in April.   The usual ticket outlets aren't selling tickets to FG past March.   At least not that I can see. Is this only because March 2023 is so far out?  I know this has been asked before (and by me as well) but does anyone know how long Lea will remain in the show?  Or is this totally TBD at this point.  The EW article said she would play "through 2023" which could really mean anything.  There does appear to be good ticket availability in the weeks/months following her intitial week.  Will be very interesting to watch the grosses.

I'd really like to know what's going through the mind of the person who paid $2,500 to see Lea's debut.

(This is not a knock on Lea -- seeing her in October, and refraining from commenting until then.)

The person likely is thinking how happy s/he is to be seeing Lea in her debut as Fanny Brice in "Funny Girl".
