I have to disagree that Showgirls is a masterpiece compared to Chicago. Even a Madonna film is better than Showgirls.As for the performances, I would have to say that not since Chita Rivera have I seen a Velma more Diva, more sexy and more fun than Catherine Zeta Jones. Getting back to the dance style. I haven't seen Melanie (I live in Australia now) but I did see Liza and Verdon and Ann's Roxie's (the revival version) didn't notice any changes with the choreography between Liza and Verdon, I think she did most of it because I don't remember Verdon dancing as much in Chicago as she did in other productions or as much as Chita did in the show. Chita's role required more dancing than Verdon's. I know Liza did the cartwheel so I assume she did the rest. As for ...

I never though Chita was interested in movies, she never seemed to push for a film career, why do we assume they want to be in front of the camera. It must be hard for someone like Chita who loves to dance big to have to stop and start all the time and do re-takes for film I would prefer broadway to film any day.In saying that, I am sorry there isn't more footage of Chita dancing, I loved Gwen and Chita in Chicago I wish they had filmed it but that was never done back then.

I have seen the original 1975 version, the revival version and the movie, while the original stage version is my favourite I prefer the movie to the current production. I only ever saw Bebe and Ann and never went back as I thought they ruined a great show. While Bebe can act and dance and Ann can dance, both their voices were less than impressive and Ann's acting was forced and wooden (unlike previous performances e.g "All That Jazz").
