winston - I believe the cursing during Val's monologue in 'Every Little Step' was dubbed in post production as to avoid receiving an R rating for the film. (I think it's 2 uses of the word that gets you an automatic R nowadays.)

The show was very sloppy. A lot of that, in my opinion, lied in the staging. During the act one finale, Evan stumbled around the stage awkwardly before breaking into that horribly awkward and out of place dance break.
I thought it was obnoxious, but couldn't help enjoy some of the more innocent moments. I really enjoyed the song "Bad, Bad News." However, very few of the kids seemed to be extremely confident in their role. I think the actors playing Lucy and Archie were the only ones who

Follies is so breathtakingly beautiful. One of the most haunting scores of all time.
But I have a soft spot for SUNDAY. "Lesson #8" brings a tear to my eye every time I hear it.

It's odd. For me, I find the first act of SWIWS to be much more accessible. But I find The Wild Party to be his most accessible work.
For Finn, I would say Spelling Bee, then Elegies.
For Guettel, Floyd Collins all the way. If anything, 'How Glory Goes' will help get some insight to his style.

THe OBCR is hands down the best recording. Dean Jones' Bobby is so real, even on recording, in a way that no one else can ever get close to. And Stritch is perfection.
But I do enjoy Lester on the London recording, if only for his rendition of 'Marry Me a Little.'
But the OBCR has Jones, Stritch, 'Tick Tock', Pamela Myers' definite performance of 'Another Hundred People', it's just so perfect.
Though, I do enjoy the dialogue in the 2006 revival recording.

Okay. We can agree on the fact that he has homosexual "issues." But I still don't think Brick is gay.
I think that is too easy of an answer to just say that he can't be with Maggie anymore because he likes men. I think that can be a part of it, depending on the actor, but I think it's a stronger choice for Brick to be played as a very confused straight man.

Tennessee Williams said he did not write Brick as a homosexual character, but as someone who can't get close to anyone after Skipper's death.
That said, Terrance Howard is full of himself. Did he see every other Brick perform? Because I'm sure they've done a hell of a lot better than he's doing every night, when he makes it.

That video truly made my night. I just finished reading Everything Was Possible and to be able to experience only a fraction of what is described in the book and those who saw the original production was magical.

I just finished my school's opening night of Into The Woods and I fail to find the second act to be weaker.
The four (Little Red, Baker, Cinderella and Jack) at the end have found some form of happiness. They finally understand what the consequences of getting their wishes are. If you listen to each vocal line in "So Happy" (especially the Baker's), they sound anything but happy. They are obviously not content (as opposed to what the narrator says) but they know they should be since
