Yes they booed her. They booed her because she was not Idina and it was a miserable thing they did. Sherie was playing a performance artist. She based her performance artist on a real performance artist who Jonathon based the character of Maureen on. This artist was a blond who's entire act was about commenting on the notion of ditzy blonds. They initially wanted to go with a big blond like Sherie, but Idina blew them away and her talent could not be denied. Sherie was amazing

Don't attack me because you don't agree with me. I have an opinion. I think its fairly clear to anyone who is willing to listen. Its clearly not your opinion. As far as Sherie is concerned she was fantastic. She was playing a performance artist. She actually based her performance artist on the actual performance artist that Jonathon based the character on. Who by the way was a blond, who's art was commenting on the whole notion of the ditsy blond. They didn't go with a blond initially

Neil and Wilson were extraordinary, unbelievably great, so were Trey Ellett, Kenna Ramsey, Michael McElroy (AMAZING), Marcie Harriel, Sherie Rene Scott, Norbert Leo Butz, and Mark Jackson. And so many more. And I'm sure there were others and I'm sure there are others out there with the magic. I'm done. Goodbye and good luck.

Who's spiteful? This whole board started with people having shivers about some very talented people being in the movie. I think people should be very careful about what they say about people. My mind is completely open. I am open to the most talented persons being in the movie. If that was the OBC great, but if not, they shouldn't have been in the movie. But you know what, I will let you people be, you are all so wrapped up in a myth, its incredible. I'm sorry if I offended anyone, I was merely

I've listened to what you all have been saying. I've heard it all before. I'll grant you that the OBC bonded over the fact that Jonathon died. OK. Fine. But you know what you people sound like the people that say Rent is only special because Jonathon died and it wouldn't have gotten the attention if he hadn't. I think its the work. Its the PLAY!! Not the individuals. Yes it would take special people but THESE AREN'T THE ONLY SPECIAL PEOPLE IN THE WORLD!!! My God! Please open your minds. Imagine

Chris Columbus didn't see anything. You think he brought them in together and saw the "magic"? He saw an easy way to make a movie. You don't think that a new group of people could have bonded in a similar manner? PLEASE. They would have had a similar amount of time to bond. And would have bonded about different things for different reasons. They are actors for God sake. I think I have a little more faith in Rent than most of you do. I'm sorry.

There isn't going to be a war trust me. But I do get it. Trust me. But to say that the OBC are the best people to play these roles right now just because they knew Jonathon personally, is to say that the only way that this musical works at its best is when these people play the roles. I happen to think its so good that it works with good actors. And if you are going to make a film about it, then you should put the best actors in it. If these people are the only people who can play these roles th

What magic? Please someone explain to me the "magic" of the original cast. I saw the OBC I saw the LA show. I saw the Boston show. I don't understand what this "magic" is. All of these casts had the magic you speak of. They are ACTORS playing roles. If you cast the right people in a good piece of material the "magic" I think you speak of will exist. If its a good piece of work, which we can all agree Rent is, then cast the best people for the roles and the work will shine through. Some actors a

Really, it sends shivers down your spine to have talented people play roles in a film that they excelled in on stage? Wow, you must be cold or something. Put a sweater on.

I happen to know for a fact that Neil and Wilson were not only considered for the miniseries but the film as well. And I am truly sorry, but they would have been pretty amazing. So get off your OBC soap boxes please.
