Pippin (1981 TV version) - The Fosse Version

May 7, 2013 — 9:41:38 AM

How do I go about getting a chance to see this. I have been a Pippin fan since I saw the original show. I love the dvd version but was so disappointed that so much had been edited out. I thought maybe it hadn't been filmed but the edits are so choppy you can actually tell that there are things missing, especially in the "No time at all number". Hope you can get back to me. Thanks again Ed

The rumor which at this point may be truth is that Stephanie Block and not lea may be taking over as elphaba. She is engaged to sabastian arcelus who plays fiyero. So if that comes to fruition then he will be staying as well. Kendra(Glinda) and Jayne Houdyshell(Morible) are leaving to join the company of The receptionist at city center. First preview is 10/12..I believe.

Superstar", Ted Kneeley was understudy to Jeff Fenholt(Broadway's original Jesus), Ben Vereen was Broadway's original Judas (Understudied by Carl Anderson), Yvonne Elliman was Broadway's original Mary Magdalen and Barry Dennen was Broadway's original Pilate. I saw the show Both Opening and closing night at the Mark Hellinger Theatre. Closing night was exciting but opening nights origina

I read many of your posts and i agree the "Hellinger" was a magnificent theatre. But you all left one big show out. The Original "Jesus Christ Superstar" played there featuring the most incredible opening number with the the biggest raked stage I
ever seen. Anyone else see JC Superstar there.
